Silbione Dispersion CAF 70004 is a food-grade silicone dispersion (white, in solvent) for non-stick coatings in the food industry.

The Elkem CAF range comprises Silbione silicone dispersions in solvents — applied as a thin-film non-stick coating to baking trays and conveyor belts, food-grade according to BGA and FDA standards. Silbione CAF 70004 is tailored to specific industrial applications — its key properties and areas of application are listed below.

Thin-layer non-stick coating

Silbione CAF 70004 is a silicone dispersion in cyclohexane — applied to baking trays, stainless steel mesh strips and aluminum sheets, where it cross-links to form a non-stick coating. Food-safe according to BGA, FDA and French regulations.

processing

1
clean substrate
Carefully degrease and dry the baking tray/conveyor belt.
2
Adjust dilution (optional)
Adjust layer thickness by dilution with cyclohexane.
3
Apply
Spraying, brushing or dipping — evenly and thinly.
4
Solvents evaporate
Cyclohexane evaporates quickly — ensure good ventilation (flammable).
5
Networking
Silicone cures to form a non-stick coating. Allow to fully cure before first contact with food.

Important instructions

Substrate preparation
Prepare bonding surfaces to be clean, grease-free, and dry. Adhesion is not possible on PE, PP, PTFE, and silicone oils. Conduct a preliminary test for critical material pairings.
Storage & Handling
Store in the unopened original container at 5 to 30 °C in a dry place, protected from sunlight. Consult the current SDS before opening.
Corrosion warning (Acetic)
Acetic crosslinking can attack copper, zinc, and galvanized steels. For corrosion-sensitive metals, choose the neutral variant (CAF 530, CAF 731, or CAF 730).
Application advice
SILITECH will advise you on the optimal CAF variant for your application — substrate pairing, corrosion and temperature requirements, desired appearance and processing workflow.

Frequently asked questions about Silbione CAF 70004

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Silbione Dispersion CAF 70004: Food-grade silicone dispersion (white, in solvent) for non-stick coatings in the food industry. Main applications include stainless steel mesh belts, aluminum baking trays, and confectionery molds.

Silbione dispersions are silicone solutions in cyclohexane that are applied to the substrate (baking tray, conveyor belt, baking mold) by spraying, brushing, or dipping. After application, the solvent (cyclohexane) evaporates quickly, and the silicone forms a non-stick film. Ensure adequate ventilation during use—cyclohexane is flammable. The layer thickness can be adjusted by diluting with more cyclohexane.

Silbione CAF 70004 adheres without a primer to glass, ceramics, many metals (stainless steel, aluminum, copper in neutral variants), and numerous engineering plastics. Adhesion is not possible to PE, PP, PTFE, and silicone oils—these substrates are fundamentally incompatible with silicone. If in doubt, we recommend a preliminary test or consultation with SILITECH regarding the specific material pairing.

Prepare the substrate to be clean, grease-free, and dry. Apply the sealant evenly from the cartridge or container—refer to the TDS for skin formation and curing times. Store in the unopened original container at 5 to 30 °C, protected from sunlight. Use opened containers promptly—for Acetic systems, reseal tightly immediately after opening. Consult the current Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.

In the comparison table above, you will find related CAF products with adapted properties—different color, different crosslinking system (acetic vs. neutral), or different mechanical properties. If you are unsure about the optimal choice, we would be happy to advise you—contact SILITECH with your requirements (substrate pairing, temperature, corrosion requirements, appearance).
