SILISIL RTV MF-Ultra 60
SILISIL ·

SILISIL RTV MF-Ultra 60 is a room-temperature vulcanizing 2-component addition-cure silicone (platinum-catalyzed, RTV-2) from the MF-Mold & Form series — 2K industrial silicone Shore A 60, blue — very high hardness for highly stressed tool molds.

The mixture is prepared in a ratio of 10:1 by weight (tolerance ±5 %). Pot life at 23 °C approx. 60 minutes, demolding after approx. 24 hours, complete curing after 24 hours. Temperature resistant –40 °C to +200 °C.

Key property

Very high hardness (Shore A 60) with high-viscosity 10:1 system — robust choice for highly stressed tool molds with long service life. Even higher final hardness: MF-Ultra 70 (Shore A 67).

What sets SILISIL RTV MF-Ultra 60 apart

Very high final hardness Shore A 60
Very high final hardness — dimensionally stable for highly stressed industrial mold forms.
Mixing ratio 10:1 (higher precision)
Higher mixing precision — minimizes mixing errors and ensures consistent final properties.
Tear resistance 10 N/mm
Solid tear resistance — sufficient for medium series with standard materials.
Very high mold service life
Long pot life — economical for medium series with hundreds of casts per mold.
Pot life 60 minutes
Very short processing time — suitable for high-throughput production with short mold cycles.
Temperature resistance −40 to +200 °C
Extended application range for hot wax applications and mold storage in extreme climates.

What is SILISIL RTV MF-Ultra 60 used for?

High-strength mold forms
Shore A 60 with a high-viscosity 10:1 system for tool molds with high dimensional accuracy and long service life. For maximum hardness: MF-Ultra 70 (Shore A 67).
High-stress resin and polyester casts
Hundreds of casts with aggressive resins — the high final hardness protects against distortion and wear.
Injection molding preforms for mold making
Master model reproduction in final tool hardness — transferability of geometry to subsequent steel or aluminum machining.
High-precision jewelry wax patterns
10:1 system minimizes mixing errors — economical choice for goldsmiths with high throughput and premium quality requirements.
Industrial concrete and stone tools
Maximum hardness protects against abrasive wear in mass production of concrete, artificial stone, and granite imitations.
Special applications with the highest load
Tear resistance 10 N/mm and tear strength >5 N/mm² at Shore A 60 — for exceptional industrial applications.

Processing

1
Prepare the original
The surface to be reproduced must be clean, dry, and free of dust. The ideal processing temperature is 23 °C — cooler environments significantly extend pot life and curing time.
2
Homogenize and mix components
Stir base and catalyst thoroughly before use. Weigh out 10:1 by weight (tolerance ±5%). When mixing, thoroughly incorporate the sides and bottom of the container.
3
Vacuum degassing
For pore-free molds, briefly degas the mixture under vacuum — entrapped air bubbles are removed, ensuring a smooth mold surface.
4
Pour slowly into the mold
Pour from a height of approx. 30 cm in a thin stream into the deepest point — the silicone displaces air independently and reaches all undercuts.
5
Vulcanize and demold
At 23 °C, demolding is possible after approx. 24 hours, with complete curing after 24 hours. Before the first pour, allow a 24 h "maturation phase" for maximum strength.

Important Notes

Avoid crosslinking inhibitors
Addition systems such as MF-Ultra 60 are sensitive to sulfur, amine, tin, and phosphorus compounds — especially latex gloves, kneading compounds, adhesive tapes, and some varnishes. If in doubt, make a small test cast before use.
Storage and Shelf Life
Shelf life of at least 12 months in unopened original container when stored in a dry, cool place (10–25 °C). Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before opening.
Available containers
5 kg. Other container sizes available on request.
Compatibility
Compatible with polyurethane, epoxy, and polyester casting resins. For aggressive resins, apply a release agent to protect the mold.

Frequently Asked Questions about SILISIL RTV MF-Ultra 60

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

SILISIL RTV MF-Ultra 60 is a 2K addition-cure silicone (Shore A 60, blue) for high-strength mold making and related applications. 2K industrial silicone Shore A 60, blue — very high hardness for highly stressed molds

At 23 °C, the pot life is approx. 60 minutes and the demolding time approx. 24 hours. Full curing is achieved after 24 hours. Lower temperatures extend these values, higher temperatures shorten them.

As an addition-curing system, SILISIL RTV MF-Ultra 60 is sensitive to crosslinking inhibitors: sulfur, amine, tin, and phosphorus compounds can locally stop vulcanization. Avoid latex gloves, sulfur-containing modeling compounds, certain adhesive tapes, and PVC plasticizers in the immediate vicinity of the mold. When in doubt, make a small test cast.

SILISIL RTV MF-Ultra 60 is mixed in a 10:1 ratio by weight (base to catalyst), with a tolerance of maximum ±5%. Homogenize both components separately before mixing, then incorporate thoroughly — including container walls and bottom. A brief vacuum degassing of the mixture is recommended for pore-free molds.

SILISIL RTV MF-Ultra 60 achieves a Shore A hardness of 60 (ASTM D 2240), a tensile strength of >5.0 N/mm² (ASTM D 412), an elongation at break of approx. 200%, and a tear resistance of 10 N/mm (ASTM D 624).
