With Shore A 22 for medium flexibility and fine detail resolution. The WT designation stands for a defined weight and viscosity adjustment — not too low-viscosity (otherwise dripping), not too viscous (otherwise spray pattern). Multiple thin layers allow uniform reproduction even of complex geometries.

Processing

Prepare the original and spray area

Clean, dry, and dust-free original. Spray booth with good ventilation — processing temperature 20–25 °C, relative humidity 40–60 %.

Homogenize and insert components

Stir both components (A + B) separately before use and insert into the 2K spray system — exact mixing ratio see TDS.

Test spray gun

Test the spray pattern on a sample cardboard — adjust for an even, thin layer thickness without drips or splatters.

Spray on the first thin layer

Spray evenly from a distance of 25–35 cm — apply the first layer thinly and fully covering as a detail layer.

Build up multiple layers

Allow to briefly dry between layers (typically 3–5 layers for complete mold build-up). The thixotropic version can also be applied vertically without issues.

Vulcanize and demold

Pot life and demolding time per TDS — typical pot life 6–15 min, demolding after 30–60 min, curing phase 24 h for maximum strength.

What is VI 22 Spray WT 2 used for?

What do I need to consider when processing 2K spray?

Platinum-curing spray silicones are sensitive to crosslinking inhibitors — sulfur, amine, tin, and phosphorus compounds can locally stop vulcanization. Avoid latex gloves, sulfur-containing modeling compounds, some adhesive tapes, and PVC plasticizers near the mold. Processing is ideally carried out at 23 °C, 40–60 % rH. Stir both components separately before placing them into the 2K spray system. Several thin spray layers are better than one thick layer.

Is VI 22 Spray WT 2 paintable or overlaminateable?

No. Silicone sprays leave a water-repellent silicone film that prevents the adhesion of paints, adhesives, and coatings. Do not apply to surfaces that will later be painted or overlaid, or clean thoroughly beforehand with SILISIL Silicone Remover.

How is VI 22 Spray WT 2 stored?

Store aerosol can below +50 °C, protect from direct sunlight, keep away from ignition sources. Pressure container — do not forcibly open or incinerate, even after use. In unopened original packaging, shelf life according to SDS — observe the printed expiry date.
