BONDERITE L-GP OD Acheson
BONDERITE L-GP OD Acheson
Bonderite · Henkel ·

Bonderite L-GP OD Acheson is a highly stable ultrafine graphite particle dispersion in solvent-refined mineral oil (OILDAG) — increases load-carrying capacity, reduces wear in interfacial lubrication, and passes through fine oil channels and filters.

Bonderite L-GP greases and oil-based concentrates from Henkel/Acheson — graphite or copper dispersions for high-temperature lubrication, forging tools, and extrusion applications. L-GP OD is tailored to specific industrial applications — the most important properties and areas of application are listed below.

OILDAG — Universal Graphite Oil Additive

Bonderite L-GP OD (formerly OILDAG EU) is a highly stable dispersion with pure, ultrafine graphite particles in solvent-refined mineral oil. It increases the load-carrying capacity of mineral oils and reduces wear in interfacial lubrication. It maintains stability at high temperatures, prevents seizing and scoring, and can be used directly without lubrication for extreme conditions.

What makes L-GP OD stand out

Increases load-bearing capacity
Improves the performance of mineral oils.
Reduces wear and tear
Especially in the case of interfacial lubrication.
Prevents seizing and scoring
Protection of highly stressed lubrications.
Separating at high temperature
Creates thin graphite layers on hot surfaces.
filter-compatible
It runs through fine oil channels and filters.

What is L-GP OD used for?

High-temperature bearings
Transport chains, baking/enameling/hardening ovens.
Assembly lubrication
Pistons, piston pins, crankshaft bearings, camshafts.
Internal combustion engine break-in
Oil additive for engine break-in.

processing

1
Prepare lubrication point
Clean lubrication points — remove old lubrication residue mechanically or with cleaner.
2
Dilute the concentrate (if necessary)
Dilute concentrates (e.g. L-GP 522, 554/20) with the specified carrier.
3
Apply
Apply a typically thin, even layer to the hot tool or component using a brush, spatula, swab or spray application.
4
Distribute
Distribute pastes manually — use pressure to distribute lubricating greases.
5
Deployment + Protection
Process workpiece according to order — Lubricating film reduces friction and protects against corrosion up to +1'000 °C (AGU+).

Frequently asked questions about L-GP OD

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Bonderite L-GP OD Acheson: Highly stable, ultrafine graphite particle dispersion in solvent-refined mineral oil (OILDAG) — increases load-carrying capacity, reduces wear in surface lubrication, and passes through fine oil channels and filters. Main applications: High-temperature bearings, assembly lubrication, internal combustion engine break-in.

Lubricating greases and oil-based concentrates (L-GP OD, L-GP YA, L-GP AGU+) are preferred for: 1) lubrication points with continuous lubrication (bearings, chain links), 2) very high temperatures combined with corrosive environments (AGU+ up to +1,000 °C), 3) anti-seize requirements with guaranteed disassembly, 4) tool lubrication in hot forming with swab application. Dry films are suitable where cleanliness and electrical properties are critical.

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically between +5 and +40 °C, see TDS for exact values. Protect water-based products from freezing. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store aerosol sprays at a low temperature and in a well-ventilated area.

In the comparison table above, you will find related Bonderite products with different properties—different carrier media, different solid lubricants, different temperature ranges, or different application specializations. If you are unsure about the optimal choice, we would be happy to advise you—contact SILITECH with your specific application (substrate, temperature, load, processing workflow).
