Bonderite L-GP 522 Acheson is a pure colloidal graphite dispersion in mineral oil (DAG 522) as a viscous concentrate — tool lubricant for hot forming of metals, glass mold lubrication and as an additive for oils and greases.

Bonderite L-GP greases and oil-based concentrates from Henkel/Acheson — graphite or copper dispersions for high-temperature lubrication, forging tools, and extrusion applications. L-GP 522 is tailored to specific industrial applications — the most important properties and areas of application are listed below.

DAG 522 — Graphite concentrate in mineral oil

Bonderite L-GP 522 (formerly DAG 522) is a pure colloidal graphite dispersion in mineral oil—a viscous concentrate (~2,000 mPa·s) for dilution with mineral oils, kerosene, or white spirit. Its fineness allows it to pass through fine filters and nozzles. Applications include tool lubricant for hot forming, glass mold lubrication, high-temperature lubrication, and as an additive.

processing

1
Prepare lubrication point
Clean lubrication points — remove old lubrication residue mechanically or with cleaner.
2
Dilute the concentrate (if necessary)
Dilute concentrates (e.g. L-GP 522, 554/20) with the specified carrier.
3
Apply
Apply a typically thin, even layer to the hot tool or component using a brush, spatula, swab or spray application.
4
Distribute
Distribute pastes manually — use pressure to distribute lubricating greases.
5
Deployment + Protection
Process workpiece according to order — Lubricating film reduces friction and protects against corrosion up to +1'000 °C (AGU+).

Frequently asked questions about L-GP 522

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Bonderite L-GP 522 Acheson: Pure colloidal graphite dispersion in mineral oil (DAG 522) as a viscous concentrate — tool lubricant for hot forming of metals, glass mold lubrication, and as an additive for oils and greases. Main applications: Hot forming tool lubrication, glass mold lubrication, high-temperature lubrication.

Lubricating greases and oil-based concentrates (L-GP OD, L-GP YA, L-GP AGU+) are preferred for: 1) lubrication points with continuous lubrication (bearings, chain links), 2) very high temperatures combined with corrosive environments (AGU+ up to +1,000 °C), 3) anti-seize requirements with guaranteed disassembly, 4) tool lubrication in hot forming with swab application. Dry films are suitable where cleanliness and electrical properties are critical.

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically between +5 and +40 °C, see TDS for exact values. Protect water-based products from freezing. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store aerosol sprays at a low temperature and in a well-ventilated area.

In the comparison table above, you will find related Bonderite products with different properties—different carrier media, different solid lubricants, different temperature ranges, or different application specializations. If you are unsure about the optimal choice, we would be happy to advise you—contact SILITECH with your specific application (substrate, temperature, load, processing workflow).
