Bonderite L-GP YA Acheson (23 kg) is graphitized lanolin grease (GREDAG YA, NLGI 4) for tool lubrication in hot forming operations — especially for hot stamping of brass and hot stamping, high coverage, high purity graphite.

Bonderite L-GP greases and oil-based concentrates from Henkel/Acheson — graphite or copper dispersions for high-temperature lubrication, forging tools, and extrusion applications. L-GP YA is tailored to specific industrial applications — the most important properties and areas of application are listed below.

GREDAG YA — Lanolin graphite grease NLGI 4

Bonderite L-GP YA (formerly GREDAG YA) is a graphitized lanolin grease (NLGI 4) for swab application as a tool lubricant in hot forming processes—especially hot stamping of brass. It is used where spray application is uneconomical (small batches, high tool temperatures). Its high opacity allows for economical use, and the high-purity graphite ensures long tool life.

Processing

1
Prepare the lubrication point
Clean lubrication points — remove old lubricant residues mechanically or with a cleaner.
2
Dilute the concentrate (if necessary)
For concentrates (e.g., L-GP 522, 554/20), dilute with the specified carrier medium.
3
Application
Apply with brush, spatula, swab, or spray application — typically a thin, uniform layer on the hot tool or component.
4
Apply
For pastes, apply manually — for greases, use contact pressure for distribution.
5
Application + protection
Process the workpiece after application — the lubricating film reduces friction and protects against corrosion up to +1'000 °C (AGU+).

Frequently Asked Questions about L-GP YA

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Bonderite L-GP YA Acheson (23 kg): Graphitized lanolin grease (GREDAG YA, NLGI 4) for tool lubrication in hot forming operations — especially for hot stamping of brass and hot stamping, high coverage, high purity graphite. Main applications: Hot stamping brass, hot extrusion of steel + aluminum + copper, warm extrusion.

Greases and oil-based concentrates (L-GP OD, L-GP YA, L-GP AGU+) are preferred for: 1) lubrication points requiring continuous lubrication (bearings, chain links), 2) very high temperatures combined with corrosive environments (AGU+ up to +1'000 °C), 3) anti-seize requirements with guaranteed disassembly, 4) tool lubrication in hot forming with swab application. Dry films are used where cleanliness and electrical properties are critical.

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically between +5 and +40 °C, exact values see TDS. Protect water-based products from frost. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store aerosol sprays at low temperature and in a well-ventilated area.

In the comparison table above, you will find related Bonderite products with different properties — different carrier, different solid lubricant, different temperature range, or different application specialization. If you are unsure about the optimal choice, we will be happy to advise you — contact SILITECH with your specific application (substrate, temperature, load, processing workflow).
