SILISIL ·

SILISIL Silicone Oil 100 cSt is a standard lubricant and release agent base — the most widely used PDMS viscosity in the industry.

SILISIL Silicone Oils are high-purity linear polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) liquids with a purity of 100%. Their viscosity of 100 cSt defines their range of applications — from lubrication and release agents to hydraulic functions and specialized care and industrial applications.

Industrial workhorse

100 cSt is the most widely used silicone oil viscosity in industry — the standard choice for injection molding release agents, pneumatic lubrication, and maintenance product bases. It offers the ideal balance of spreadability, service life, and lubrication.

Important instructions

Storage & Handling
Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place (ideally below 60°C). Avoid contact with eyes. Consult the SDS before opening.
Solvent compatibility
Soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents. Immiscible with water and alcohols.
Release agent effect before painting
Standard PDMS prevents paint adhesion to subsequent coatings. For paintable applications, choose SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade.

Frequently asked questions about SILISIL Silicone Oil 100 cSt

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

SILISIL Silicone Oil 100 cSt: Standard lubricant and release agent base — the most widely used PDMS viscosity in industry. Main applications include injection molding release agents, pneumatic lubrication, and furniture and floor care.

PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) is a linear silicone fluid that combines high thermal stability, low surface tension, very good dielectric properties, and a wide temperature range. The viscosity (measured in centistokes, cSt) determines the application range—low viscosities are suitable for volatile applications and lubrication, high viscosities for damping and conditioning.

SILISIL silicone oils are soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents (e.g., toluene, xylene, hexane, diesel). They are immiscible with water and alcohols. For anti-foaming applications, highly viscous PDMS are diluted in hydrocarbon solvents and applied using a metering pump.

Store in the unopened original container at room temperature (ideally below 60°C). Avoid contact with eyes. SILISIL Silicone Oils are generally non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless; however, consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), which is available in the "Documents" tab.

The viscosity determines the application. 100 cSt is optimal for: injection molding release agents and similar application profiles. For other application characteristics, you will find related viscosities in the comparison table above — if you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you on your specific application.
