SILISIL ·

SILISIL Silicone Oil 50 cSt is a versatile industrial fluid for lubrication, hydraulics, release agents and care formulations.

SILISIL Silicone Oils are high-purity linear polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) liquids with a purity of 100%. Their viscosity of 50 cSt defines their application range—from lubrication and release agents to hydraulic functions and specialized care and industrial applications.

Industrial all-rounder

50 cSt covers a particularly wide range of applications — lubrication with higher viscosity, release agents with longer service life, hydraulic components with moderate damping.

Personal care
Conditioner function in hair conditioners and skin creams.
Water-repellent
Hydrophobing of surfaces with a lasting effect.
Thermally resistant
Stability from -50 to +200 °C without loss of properties.

What is SILISIL Silicone Oil 50 cSt used for?

Pneumatics & Compressed Air Lubrication
High-performance pneumatic tools, cylinders and control valves.
Release agent with long service life
Injection molding release agent for multiple applications without re-spraying.
Conditioner in Personal Care
Hair and skin cream formulations with a silky, smooth finish.
Hydraulic damping
Servomotors and precision hydraulics with moderate viscosity.
Furniture & Floor Care
Premium wax additive for care products with a shine effect.
Mechanical engineering lubrication

Important instructions

Storage & Handling
Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place (ideally below 60°C). Avoid contact with eyes. Consult the SDS before opening.
Solvent compatibility
Soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents. Immiscible with water and alcohols.
Release agent effect before painting
Standard PDMS prevents paint adhesion to subsequent coatings. For paintable applications, choose SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade.

Frequently asked questions about SILISIL Silicone Oil 50 cSt

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

SILISIL Silicone Oil 50 cSt: Versatile industrial fluid for lubrication, hydraulics, release agents, and care formulations. Main applications include pneumatic and compressed air lubrication, long-lasting release agents, and conditioners in personal care.

PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) is a linear silicone fluid that combines high thermal stability, low surface tension, very good dielectric properties, and a wide temperature range. The viscosity (measured in centistokes, cSt) determines the application range—low viscosities are suitable for volatile applications and lubrication, high viscosities for damping and conditioning.

SILISIL silicone oils are soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents (e.g., toluene, xylene, hexane, diesel). They are immiscible with water and alcohols. For anti-foaming applications, highly viscous PDMS are diluted in hydrocarbon solvents and applied using a metering pump.

Store in the unopened original container at room temperature (ideally below 60°C). Avoid contact with eyes. SILISIL Silicone Oils are generally non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless; however, consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), which is available in the "Documents" tab.

The viscosity determines the application. 50 cSt is optimal for pneumatic and compressed air lubrication and similar application profiles. For other application characteristics, you will find related viscosities in the comparison table above — if you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you on your specific application.
