SILISIL Silicone Oil 20 cSt is PDMS for capacitor impregnation, dielectric insulation and electronic applications.
SILISIL Silicone Oils are high-purity linear polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) liquids with a purity of 100%. Their viscosity of 20 cSt defines their application range—from lubrication and release agents to hydraulic functions and specialized care and industrial applications.
20 cSt is the established viscosity for capacitor impregnation and transformer oil supplementation — good spreading ability combined with high dielectric strength and low loss factor.

Frequently asked questions about SILISIL Silicone Oil 20 cSt
Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.
SILISIL Silicone Oil 20 cSt: PDMS for capacitor impregnation, dielectric insulation, and electronic applications. Main applications include capacitor impregnation, transformer auxiliary oil, and electronic potting.
PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) is a linear silicone fluid that combines high thermal stability, low surface tension, very good dielectric properties, and a wide temperature range. The viscosity (measured in centistokes, cSt) determines the application range—low viscosities are suitable for volatile applications and lubrication, high viscosities for damping and conditioning.
SILISIL silicone oils are soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents (e.g., toluene, xylene, hexane, diesel). They are immiscible with water and alcohols. For anti-foaming applications, highly viscous PDMS are diluted in hydrocarbon solvents and applied using a metering pump.
Store in the unopened original container at room temperature (ideally below 60°C). Avoid contact with eyes. SILISIL Silicone Oils are generally non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless; however, consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), which is available in the "Documents" tab.
The viscosity determines the application. 20 cSt is optimal for: capacitor impregnation and similar application profiles. For other application characteristics, you will find related viscosities in the comparison table above — if you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you on your specific application.
