SILISIL ·

SILISIL Silicone Oil 5 cSt is a low-viscosity PDMS for corrugated paper, lubrication and machine construction release agent.

SILISIL Silicone Oils are high-purity linear polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) liquids with a purity of 100%. Their viscosity of 5 cSt defines their application range—from lubrication and release agents to hydraulic functions and specialized care and industrial applications.

Versatile industrial fluid

5 cSt is the standard choice for applications that lie between lubrication and release agent — from corrugated paper coating to pneumatic lubrication to cosmetic formulations.

What distinguishes SILISIL Silicone Oil 5 cSt

All-round low viscosity
The golden mean — low enough for spreading, high enough for durability.
Corrugated paper coating
Traditional application in the baking paper, release paper and packaging industries.
Pneumatic lubrication
Lubricates compressed air components without resinification over time.
Hydrophobic coating
Water-repellent surface treatment with a longer service life than 0.65-3 cSt.
Dielectric properties
Dielectric strength ~14 kV/mm — for electronics impregnation.
Low volatility
Evaporates very little at room temperature — consistent effect.

What is SILISIL Silicone Oil 5 cSt used for?

Baking paper & corrugated paper
Release coating in the packaging and food industries.
Pneumatic lubrication
Pneumatic tools, cylinders and control valves with long-term stable lubrication.
Release agent for plastic injection molding
Low-viscosity variant for detailed injection molding applications.
Personal Care & Cosmetics
Carriers in care products with a better durability than 2-3 cSt.
Micromechanical lubrication
Precision friction pairs in sensors and actuators.
Hydrophobic impregnation
Water-repellent treatment for textiles and special surfaces.

Important instructions

Storage & Handling
Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place (ideally below 60°C). Avoid contact with eyes. Consult the SDS before opening.
Solvent compatibility
Soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents. Immiscible with water and alcohols.
Release agent effect before painting
Standard PDMS prevents paint adhesion to subsequent coatings. For paintable applications, choose SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade.

Frequently asked questions about SILISIL Silicone Oil 5 cSt

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

SILISIL Silicone Oil 5 cSt: Low-viscosity PDMS for corrugated paper, lubrication, and machine release agent. Main applications include baking paper and corrugated paper, pneumatic lubrication, and release agent for plastic injection molding.

PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) is a linear silicone fluid that combines high thermal stability, low surface tension, very good dielectric properties, and a wide temperature range. The viscosity (measured in centistokes, cSt) determines the application range—low viscosities are suitable for volatile applications and lubrication, high viscosities for damping and conditioning.

SILISIL silicone oils are soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents (e.g., toluene, xylene, hexane, diesel). They are immiscible with water and alcohols. For anti-foaming applications, highly viscous PDMS are diluted in hydrocarbon solvents and applied using a metering pump.

Store in the unopened original container at room temperature (ideally below 60°C). Avoid contact with eyes. SILISIL Silicone Oils are generally non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless; however, consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), which is available in the "Documents" tab.

The viscosity determines the application. 5 cSt is optimal for: baking paper & corrugated paper and similar application profiles. For other application characteristics, you will find related viscosities in the comparison table above — if you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you on your specific application.
