Processing

Stir the RTV base
Homogenize the RTV base before adding the catalyst — avoid sedimentation of fillers.

Dosing the catalyst
Accurate dosing: typically 5% w/w (see TDS for exact value). Dose by weight — volumetric dosing is inaccurate.

Mix Carefully
Low-speed stirrer — until no streaks are visible (homogeneous color).

30–50 mbar vacuum for bubble-free curing.

Bluesil Catalyseur 6 H: Fast tin catalyst for the Bluesil RTV condensation series — 6 h demolding time for high-throughput workflows in workshops and industry. Main applications: High-throughput workshop, rapid prototyping, industrial reproduction.

Standard dosage is 5 parts catalyst per 100 parts RTV base (5% w/w). The exact dosage affects the pot life and demolding time — see the TDS for the exact values. Important: too little catalyst leads to incomplete crosslinking, too much catalyst dramatically shortens the pot life and can impair the final properties. Stir both components thoroughly before mixing.

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically standard between +5 and +30 °C, exact values see TDS. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiration date on the packaging — Elkem guarantees the sales specifications only up to the stated date.
