Permabond A1042 is a fast-curing, medium-strength, anaerobic threadlocker with lubricating properties — designed for locking applications such as spring washers, cotter pins and bolted joints that require fast assembly and vibration-resistant locking.
Unlike standard threadlockers, A1042 cures to handling strength in just 5 minutes and to functional strength after 30 minutes — three times faster than A011 or A113. This accelerates line cycle times in series assembly.
The thixotropic consistency (8,000 mPa·s @ 2 rpm) prevents dripping from vertical threads. Its lubricating properties facilitate assembly—the screw can be tightened evenly, resulting in reproducible preload forces. With a breakaway torque of 16 N·m and a tightening torque of 8 N·m, A1042 falls within the classic medium-strength range.
