Two-component, addition-curing SILBIONE-RTV paste for footcare applications, curing at room temperature in a 1:1 ratio. Hardness according to the Elkem data sheet approx. Shore A 20.

SILBIONE RTV 4320 A and B are pasty, addition-curing silicone components, mixed by hand in 100 parts each (1:1 ratio). After a total processing time of approximately 2 minutes at 23°C and a setting time of approximately 4 minutes, an elastomer with a Shore A hardness of approximately 20 is formed. According to the Elkem data sheet, it is suitable for the production of orthopedic insoles and heel spur braces.

Mix
Mix 100 parts SILBIONE RTV A with 100 parts SILBIONE RTV B (1:1) by hand until a homogeneous color is achieved. Mix gently to avoid air bubbles.

Process
According to the Elkem data sheet, the total processing time is approximately 2 minutes at 23°C. Higher temperatures shorten, lower temperatures lengthen the time.

Curing
According to the Elkem data sheet, the setting time is approximately 4 minutes. Final properties are measured 24 hours after polymerization, according to the Elkem data sheet.

Important instructions

  • According to the Elkem data sheet, handle with vinyl gloves and use only clean stainless steel or plastic containers. Addition curing can be inhibited by: latex gloves, heavy metal salts, amines, sulfur and its derivatives, and epoxy resin catalysts.
