BLUESIL RTV 148 A + 147 B (1.1 kg)

https://www.silitech.ch/web/image/product.template/1007/image_1920?unique=0edcd61

Addition-curing RTV-2 silicone, mixing ratio 10:1. Production of thermal protective elements, flexible molded parts and insulators as well as form gaskets, in addition to potting of electrical systems.

BLUESIL RTV 148 A with 147 B is an addition-curing, two-component silicone rubber. Components 147 and 148 A can be mixed to create rubbers of medium hardness; 147 B is used for curing. The compound cures at room temperature without generating heat of reaction. Heating up to 150 °C accelerates curing without blistering. Applications include thermal insulation, flexible insulating materials, molded seals, and the embedding of electrotechnical systems, offering very high temperature resistance and good reversibility.

BLUESIL RTV 148 A&B (with hardener 147 B) is a two-component, addition-curing RTV-2 silicone that cures at room temperature to a softer (Shore A 40), heat-resistant elastomer.

RTV 148 A has a significantly lower viscosity than RTV 147 A at approx. 10,000 mPa·s and is processed with hardener RTV 147 B in a ratio of 100:10. RTV 147 A and 148 A can be mixed in any proportion to adjust hardness.

Soft and pourable

Low-viscosity, addition-curing RTV-2 silicone with a soft formulation (Shore A 40), excellent thermal stability, and good pouring and deaeration properties, designed for thermal protection and flexible insulators.

Processing

1
Preparation and mixing
Stir both components before use. Add 10 parts of RTV 147 B to 100 parts of RTV 148 A and mix slowly.
2
Degas
Degas at 30 to 50 mbar, release the vacuum once or twice.
3
Casting
Pour slowly and evenly; for thick layers, start from the lowest point and do not fill completely.
4
Curing
Demoldable at room temperature after 24 to 48 h, accelerated 4 h at 65 °C, 1 h at 100 °C, or 30 min at 150 °C.

Important Notes

  • Addition curing is sensitive to inhibition: avoid sulfur-containing rubbers, metal-salt-catalyzed RTV, tin-stabilized PVC, and amine-crosslinked epoxides; if in doubt, test beforehand.
  • Viscosity can be reduced by up to 10% with BLUESIL FLD 47V100 before curing. Linear shrinkage approx. 0.1% at room temperature.
  • The currently valid Elkem data sheet (TDS and SDS) is authoritative, which we will be happy to send you.
