What is Bonderite (formerly Acheson/DAG)?
Bonderite is the Henkel brand for industrial lubricants, cleaners, and surface treatment products. The former brands Acheson and DAG have been incorporated into it. Within the series, L-FG stands for forging lubricants, L-CA for die coatings, L-GP for all-purpose lubricants, and M-NT for surface pretreatment. SILITECH assists in mapping former Acheson and DAG designations to the current Bonderite products.
Which lubricant for aluminum die casting?
For aluminum die casting, die lubricants from the Bonderite L-CA series are generally suitable, either water-based or graphite-based. The preliminary selection is based on casting temperature, mold complexity, cycle time, and surface requirements. The final suitability is determined by trials in the actual casting process.
