Red-tinted mold-making silicone with high temperature resistance, supplied as a kit with catalyst CATA XY 86 NL. Designed for high hardness and tear resistance.
BLUESIL RTV 3255 is a silicone elastomer that cures to a flexible, elastic material at room temperature after the addition of the catalyst BLUESIL CATA XY 86 NL. It is designed for highly flexible molds for shoe soles and technical parts. The mixing ratio is 100 parts base to 4 parts catalyst. This product is the RTV 3255 kit plus 4% CATA XY 86 NL.
According to TDS, hardness and tensile strength continue to increase at high temperatures: after 2 weeks at 300 °C, RTV 3255 reaches approximately 90 Shore A and a tensile strength of around 5 MPa. However, use under confinement at high temperatures leads to a significantly reduced service life; in such cases, other BLUESIL RTV types should be used.

Processing
Important Notes
- Processing is temperature and humidity dependent; do not process below 20 °C. Use under confinement at high temperatures will significantly reduce service life; in such cases, use other BLUESIL RTV types.
- Store in the original container below 40 °C. RTV 3255 and the kit with CATA XY 86 NL have a shelf life of up to 12 months from the date of manufacture. Reseal opened containers.
- The currently valid Elkem data sheet (TDS and SDS) is authoritative, which we will be happy to send you.
