Condensation-curing, tin-catalyzed 2K silicone, highly castable, soft (Shore A 14) and detail-accurate.

Blüsil V-1062 is a high-strength, two-component, tin-catalyzed silicone rubber material that cures at room temperature via a condensation reaction. Designed as a highly castable material with a Shore A hardness of 14, it offers good mechanical properties, long tool life, and excellent detail reproduction. It can also be used in vacuum demolding. The hardener is available in two versions: HI-PRO GREEN and the faster-curing HI-PRO BLUE.

Two hardeners, one soft molding silicone

Mixing ratio 10:1 by weight. With HI-PRO GREEN: pot life approximately 4.5 hours, demolding after approximately 16 hours. With HI-PRO BLUE (fast): pot life approximately 1.5 hours, demolding after approximately 8 hours. Cured hardness Shore A 14, temperature range -50 to 150 °C.

What makes the RTV V-1062S stand out

Very pourable
Designed as a highly flowable silicone, for clean impressions with high detail accuracy.
Two hardener variants
HI-PRO GREEN for longer processing time, HI-PRO BLUE as a fast hardener.
High mechanical strength
With HI-PRO GREEN tensile strength around 3.9 N/mm2, elongation at break around 540%, tear strength around 23.7 N/mm (ASTM D412 and D624).
Long mold life
Long library life and good reusability of the forms.
Wide temperature range
Operating temperature range: -50 to 150 °C (-58 to 302 °F).
Vacuum demolding
Also suitable for vacuum demolding.

What is the RTV V-1062S used for?

Figurines and gift items
Casting of figures and gift items made of polyester, polyurethane, plaster (plaster or gypsum).
Glove shapes
Glove molds in one-piece and suitcase versions.
Printing plates
Transfer print pads.

Processing

1
Preparation
Stir the base (part A) well, shake the hardener container (part B) well.
2
Mixing
Mix 10:1 by weight until an even color is achieved, scrape walls and floor well.
3
Degas
Degas under vacuum at up to 29 inch Hg; the mixture will rise and fall back, then hold under full vacuum for 2 to 3 minutes.
4
Pouring and hardening
Pour slowly into the mold in a thin stream, cure for 16 to 24 hours at 24 °C; heat acceleration is not recommended, full curing in 3 to 7 days.

Important Notes

  • Condensation-curing and tin-catalyzed. Tightly close the hardener container after use; hardener exposed to air will hydrolyze and must not be used. Curing temperatures below 20 °C are not recommended.
  • Store in unopened original packaging at 24°C for up to 18 months from the date of manufacture. For bonding to wood or metal, use the primer Blüsil V-04.
  • The currently valid Elkem data sheet (TDS and SDS) is authoritative, which we will be happy to send you.
