LOCTITE® SF 7240 – Activator for anaerobic adhesives and sealants

Features & Benefits

  • Significantly reduces the curing time of anaerobic adhesives, e.g. on passive metals or at low temperatures (<15 °C)
  • No mixing required, ready to use
  • Ideal for large joint gaps or inactive surfaces
  • Does not affect the final strength of the adhesive
  • Remains active for up to 6 hours after application

Technical Data

  • Density at 25 °C: 1.05 – 1.10 g/cm³
  • Viscosity: 10 – 20 mPa·s
  • Processing time: Adhesive application within 15 seconds of activation
  • Handling strength with LOCTITE® 638 on steel:
    • After 5 min (22 °C): 4–17 N/mm²
    • After 24 h (22 °C): 17–37 N/mm²

Application Instructions

  1. Clean the surface if necessary (especially if there is oil, oxides, etc.)
  2. Apply activator to one bonding surface, adhesive to the other
  3. For larger gaps or maximum curing speed, activate both sides
  4. Join and fix the components as quickly as possible
  5. Do not mix adhesive directly with activator
