SILISIL silicone paste for automotive applications is a silicone paste based on polydimethylsiloxane oils with inert fillers for the protection and insulation of electrical components under extreme temperature fluctuations. Typical applications include the protection of rubber parts, static lubrication of O-rings and seals, protection of relays, cable connections and battery terminals, as well as the sealing of electric motors. The paste is water-repellent, chemically inert, highly dielectric, resistant from -40 to +200 °C, and complies with MIL and NATO standards.

Processing and Mixing

- Before processing, stir both components individually and then mix thoroughly in the specified ratio
- Degassing under vacuum (30–50 mbar) eliminates air inclusions and improves surface quality
- Processing ideally at 23 °C and 40–60 % relative humidity
- Contamination by sulfur, amines, tin catalysts, or PVC must be avoided in platinum-crosslinked systems — they prevent curing
Storage and Shelf Life
- Store in unopened original container at 5–25 °C, dry and protected from direct sunlight
- Shelf life from the manufacturing date specified in the TDS — typically 12–24 months
- After opening, reseal carefully
