SILISIL Silicone Remover — Silicone cleaner for tools, molds, and surfaces
SILISIL Silicone Remover is a solvent-based cleaner for the effective removal of uncured silicone residues and silicone oil films. The product is indispensable for tool and mold maintenance, cleaning before painting or bonding, and for the removal of silicone contamination in production environments.
Note: The remover attacks uncured silicone and thin silicone oil films. For fully cured silicone elastomers, mechanical removal or a silicone dissolver is required.
Product Advantages
- Effective silicone removal on metals, glass, and many plastics
- Reliably prepares surfaces for painting, bonding, or printing
- Evaporates with low residue
- Odor-reduced formulation
- Compatible with most common workshop materials
Typical Applications
- Tool cleaning: Removal of silicone residues from mixers, spatulas, and dispensing guns
- Mold Care: Cleaning of metal molds after silicone casting
- Paint Preparation: Residue-free removal of silicone residues before painting
- Adhesive Preparation: Remove silicone contamination for better adhesion
- Production Hygiene: Remove silicone spray residues in paint lines
Processing
- Use clean, lint-free cloths
- Apply remover generously to the cloth and rub the surface
- For heavy soiling, repeat several times with a fresh cloth
- Then allow the surface to evaporate completely
- Do not apply to sensitive plastics (e.g., ABS, polycarbonate) without prior testing
Storage and Safety
- Store cool and dry, tightly closed — flammable liquid
- Do not inhale vapors, use only in well-ventilated areas
- Avoid skin contact — see SDS
SILISIL Silicone Remover is supplied by SILITECH AG from Swiss warehouse — in various container sizes depending on frequency of use.

Frequently asked questions about SILISIL Silicone Remover
Answers on application areas and compatibility.
Only partially. SILISIL Silicone Remover dissolves uncured silicones and thin silicone oil films. Fully cured silicone elastomers must be removed mechanically — for this, there are special silicone removers such as DOWSIL OS Silicone Remover.
For most common plastics such as PE, PP, PA, yes. For sensitive materials such as polycarbonate, ABS, or polystyrene, we recommend a prior compatibility test in an inconspicuous area.
Yes, it is optimized precisely for that purpose. Silicone residues are the most common cause of paint flow defects (craters, fish eyes). With the remover, the surface is free of silicone before painting.
Typically 5–15 minutes, depending on the substrate and layer thickness. For sensitive subsequent processes (bonding, sealing), wait longer — see SDS for evaporation times.
