Processing

Prepare the substrate
Ensure that adhesive surfaces, bearings, seals or molds are clean, free of grease and dust — if necessary, degrease with acetone or isopropanol and allow to dry completely.

Shake the aerosol can
Shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds before use — audibly move mixing balls (if present) to ensure the active ingredients are homogeneously distributed.

Spray from a distance of 20–30 cm
Spray evenly, avoiding getting too close to the surface. For sensitive materials, test compatibility in an inconspicuous area first.

Apply thinly — several layers
Several thin layers are better than one thick one. Allow the carrier substance (propellant gas + hydrocarbon solvent) to evaporate, then treat if necessary.

Spread or rub in
For lubrication applications, spread with a lint-free cloth — for separation applications, allow to dry untreated.

Important — no painting afterwards
Do not apply to surfaces that will later be painted or covered with adhesive film — the silicone film prevents paint adhesion. If necessary, remove beforehand with SILISIL Silicone Remover.

Universal PDMS silicone sprays are the all-rounders of the workshop — wherever a water-repellent, dielectrically insulating, heat-resistant separating or lubricating layer is required: plain bearings, hinges, seals, conveyor belts, injection molding separation. For polycarbonate, ABS, or EPDM/NBR elastomers, we recommend the premium variant (1178) for added safety, as it is formulated without aggressive solvents.

No. Silicone sprays leave a water-repellent silicone film that prevents the adhesion of paints, adhesives, and coatings. Do not apply to surfaces that will later be painted or overlaid, or clean thoroughly beforehand with SILISIL Silicone Remover.

Store aerosol can below +50 °C, protect from direct sunlight, keep away from ignition sources. Pressure container — do not forcibly open or incinerate, even after use. In unopened original packaging, shelf life according to SDS — observe the printed expiry date.
