Product description:

TEROSON® F173 is a high-quality, neutral-curing silicone sealant specifically developed for demanding sealing work on roofs and walls. The paste-like sealant impresses with its high elasticity, weather and UV resistance, as well as excellent adhesion to a wide variety of building materials – without any primer. Even on bitumen roofing membranes, smooth metals, rigid PVC, or glazed ceramics, F173 delivers its full performance.

The paint-compatible formulation according to DIN 52452 makes TEROSON® F173 the ideal choice for a wide range of applications in building construction, such as sealing balconies, windows, overhead doors, or openings. The sealant can be applied precisely and smoothed easily. Under normal conditions, curing occurs within a few days.

• Expansion and connection joints in building construction

• Joints on balconies, terraces, windows, and lift-and-slide doors

• Chimney connections and skylight penetrations

• Antenna and ventilation ducts

• Transitions between glass and metal, wood, or plastic

• Bitumen connections to masonry

• Sheet metal seams in metal, HVAC, and apparatus construction

Processing instructions:

• Joint flanks must be dry, dust-free, and free of grease, and must be load-bearing

• Remove old sealant residues completely 

• Application is carried out using a cartridge gun; cut the nozzle at an angle to the desired joint width

• Smooth immediately after application (with soap solution or moistened tool)

• Clean fresh sealant with denatured alcohol; remove cured sealant mechanically

• Not suitable for: foot or vehicle traffic joints, food contact, aquariums, or underwater applications

• Compatible with common paint systems, but not paintable

• Adhesion to PE, PTFE, EPDM, and oil-containing materials is excluded
