Detailed Product Description
LOCTITE EA 9483 is a low-viscosity, colorless two-component epoxy adhesive (resin + hardener) for industrial applications requiring maximum transparency, strength, and dimensional stability. After mixing, LOCTITE EA 9483 cures at room temperature, achieving a highly transparent bond line with minimal shrinkage. The adhesive is characterized by excellent impact resistance, outstanding chemical resistance, and high mechanical performance. This makes LOCTITE EA 9483 ideal for bonding and potting glass, plastics, wood, metal, fiberglass, and other materials – for example, display cases, design objects, or technical assemblies where a clear appearance is required.
The product features excellent temperature and media resistance and remains permanently stable even under temperature fluctuations and humidity. Thanks to the practical 2:1 (by volume) mixing ratio, LOCTITE EA 9483 is easy to dose and process. Typical applications include bonding, potting, and coating of transparent components, sealing of electronic parts, as well as the production of high-quality visible joints in furniture and apparatus construction.

Processing instructions
- Preparation: Keep surfaces clean, dry, and free of grease. If necessary, pre-treat with sandpaper or sandblasting.
- Mixing: Thoroughly mix resin and hardener in a ratio of 2:1 (by volume) or 100:46 (by weight). Discard the first few centimeters from double cartridges.
- Application: Apply adhesive evenly to one or both substrates and assemble parts immediately.
- Processing: Avoid larger batches (>500 g) to reduce heat development.
- Fixation: Fix parts during curing. Hand strength after approx. 3.5 hours, full final strength after approx. 3 days at room temperature.
- Cleaning: Remove uncured adhesive with organic solvents (e.g., acetone).
Note: LOCTITE EA 9483 is not suitable for pure oxygen, chlorine, or strongly oxidizing media. For optimal results, always check suitability for the respective material and application.
