BLUESIL Fluid 604V50

BLUESIL Fluid 604V50 is a dielectric fluid made of polydimethylsiloxane, whose purity has been specifically tested for electrotechnical applications. It serves as an insulating and cooling medium for transformers and, more generally, for medium-voltage equipment such as switchgear, chokes, capacitors, and resistors, particularly where environmental or fire protection requirements exist, for example, in public areas, basements, or near bodies of water. The fluid offers excellent dielectric properties, high thermal stability, chemical inertness, good heat transfer, and is non-flammable.

Product Description

Bluesil Fluid 604V50 is a high-purity dielectric PDMS (50 mm²/s) specifically for transformer insulation and medium-voltage systems — non-flammable, chemically inert, environmentally friendly.

Bluesil/Silbione polydimethylsiloxane oils (PDMS) — chemically inert, thermally stable, with defined viscosity for use as lubricants, separators, dielectrics, hydraulic fluids, and heat transfer fluids. Fluid 604V50 is tailored to specific applications — the most important properties and areas of use are listed below.

Dielectric for transformers

Bluesil FLD 604V50 is a high-purity polydimethylsiloxane whose purity has been specifically tested for electrical engineering applications. Its main application is insulation and cooling in submerged transformers—non-flammable, harmless to humans and the environment, and ideal for transformers in public spaces, residential areas, basements, and near water.

Processing

1
Clean application surface
Degrease and dry the surface to be treated — a clean contact surface is important for uniform effectiveness.
2
Application
Spraying, dipping, brushing, or printing — depending on the application profile. At low viscosity, also suitable for airless spray application.
3
Apply
Uniform layer — thin for release agents, as needed for lubricants.
4
Waiting time / distribution time
For high-temperature applications, observe the drying time — check the antifoam dosage ratio.
5
Sealing + Storage
Seal remaining quantities airtight, store cool and dry — typical shelf life 36 months from manufacturing date.

Frequently asked questions about Fluid 604V50

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Bluesil Fluid 604V50: High-purity dielectric PDMS (50 mm²/s) specifically for transformer insulation and medium-voltage installations — non-flammable, chemically inert, and environmentally friendly. Main applications: transformer insulation, medium-voltage installations, public utilities.

PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) is a linear silicone fluid with high thermal stability, low surface tension, very good dielectric properties, and broad temperature resistance. The viscosity (in mm²/s = cSt) determines the field of application — low viscosities for volatile lubrication and hydraulics, high viscosities for antifoam, damping, and care conditioning.

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically standard between +5 and +30 °C, exact values see TDS. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiration date on the packaging — Elkem guarantees the sales specifications only up to the stated date.

In the comparison table above, you will find related products with similar functions or related specifications. If you are unsure about the optimal choice, we will be happy to advise you — contact SILITECH with your application (desired property, substrate, processing workflow).
