SILISIL ·

SILISIL RTV PC-Putty 30 BASE is a room temperature vulcanizing 2-component silicone of the PC — Polycondensationseries (Polycondensation (tin catalyst), kneadable, RTV-2) — Kneadable polycondensation putty (Shore A 30) — Base component for direct impressions without risk of poisoning.

The mixture is prepared in a 1:1 ratio by weight . Pot life at 23 °C is approximately 2 minutes (Fast) / 90 minutes (Slow). Demolding is possible after approximately 15 minutes (Fast) / 18-22 hours (Slow). Full curing occurs after 24 hours. Temperature resistant from -40 °C to +200 °C.

Key property

Polycondensation putty — basic component for direct hand impressions without risk of poisoning. Available as a fast (pot life 2 min) or slow (90 min) variant by combining it with Fast or Slow CATALYST.

What distinguishes SILISIL RTV PC-Putty 30 BASE

Malleable like modeling clay — no container
Direct hand processing without container, mixer or vacuum chamber — the fastest way to the shape.
Polycondensation — resistant to inhibitors
The condensation system does not react to sulfur, amine and PVC inhibitors — certainly not even to problematic originals.
Choice of Fast or Slow CATALYST
Choice of fast or slow catalyst — pot life flexibly selectable from 2 min to 90 min.
Cooking time: 2 minutes (Fast) to 90 minutes (Slow)
Very short processing time — suitable for high-throughput production with short mold cycles.
Mixing ratio 1:1 by weight
Simple 1:1 ratio — hand-mixable without a precision scale, ideal for workshops and hobbyists.
Dimensional change <0.57%
Minimal dimensional change — precise reproduction even after several days of storage.

What is SILISIL RTV PC-Putty 30 BASE used for?

Direct impressions without tools
Knead by hand and press directly onto the model — mold ready in 15 minutes (Fast-CAT) or 18-22 hours (Slow-CAT).
Repair and correction
Fill and repair damaged model areas — no tools or preforms required.
Restoration of delicate originals
Polycondensation is not sensitive to sulfur, latex and other inhibitors — safe for historical pieces.
Fast Detail Replicas (Fast-CAT)
With the Fast-CAT catalyst: pot life 2 minutes, finished form after 15 minutes.
Complex multi-part molds (Slow-CAT)
With the Slow-CAT catalyst: pot life 90 minutes, time for clean multi-part assembly.
Jewelry and goldsmithing applications
Direct impression on the workpiece without disassembly — goldsmiths with condensation system.

Processing

1
Prepare the original
Clean, dry, and dust-free surface at 23 °C — cooler environments significantly extend pot life and curing time.
2
Mix components
Stir base and catalyst thoroughly before use. Weigh out 1:1 by weight. Mix in thoroughly, including container walls and bottom.
3
Use without venting
Polycondensation does not require a vacuum — pour or apply directly.
4
Processing
Pour in a thin stream from a height of approximately 30 cm — minimizing air bubbles. For modeling clay, press directly onto the model.
5
Vulcanize and demold
At 23 °C, demolding is possible after approximately 15 minutes (Fast) / 18-22 hours (Slow), complete curing after 24 hours.

Important Notes

Polycondensation — robust against inhibitors
Polycondensation system (tin catalyst) — no susceptibility to poisoning from sulfur, amines, or PVC. Vacuum venting is not strictly necessary.
Storage and Shelf Life
Shelf life of at least 12 months in unopened original container when stored in a dry, cool place (10–25 °C). Consult the SDS before opening.
Available containers
500 g, 1 kg, 5 kg. Other package sizes available on request.
Compatibility
Compatible with polyurethane, epoxy, and polyester casting resins. For aggressive resins, apply a release agent.
