Silicone-free + quick-drying for composites

G&P Wax Release Spray is a silicone-free and CFC-free wax release spray — fast-drying, milky-white with a density of 1.25 and a flash point of +34 °C. It is an aerosol with a propane/butane propellant. Suitable for processing polyester, epoxy, polymethacrylate, polyurethane, and silicone rubber. Temperature resistant up to +90 °C.

Processing

Prepare the mold
Mold clean, grease-free, and silicone-free. Seal absorbent substrates beforehand. For new molds, repeated waxing is recommended — micropores are closed.

Condition the release agent
Bring the aerosol can to room temperature (approx. 20 °C) before use — spraying when cold results in uneven layers.

Shake the aerosol can
Stir thoroughly before and during use — active ingredients must be evenly distributed in the propellant gas.

Spray from a distance of 20–30 cm
Apply slowly and evenly in a thin layer — all mold areas must be wetted by the release agent.

Flash-off 10–60 minutes
Drying time varies by product — solvents must evaporate completely. For wax-based release sprays, optionally polish with a soft cotton cloth (caution — friction generates heat; do not polish away the release film).

Re-spray as needed
If the release effect diminishes, repeat the process. The release agent film builds up in the mold after repeated use — periodic cleaning with a release agent remover is necessary.

G&P Wax Release Spray: Fast-drying, silicone-free and CFC-free wax release spray — temperature resistant up to +90 °C, suitable for processing polyester, epoxy, PMMA, polyurethane, and silicone rubber. Main applications: aircraft and glider construction, boat building, bodywork, and paneling.

For polyester (UP) and epoxy resin (EP), wax-based sprays are standard (Neukadur P6, Wax Release Spray G&P, Release Spray TRS) — silicone-free, they leave the component paintable/glueable. For difficult polyurethane demolding with high requirements or multiple cycles, the silicone-containing ACHEM SG-1001S offers the highest release reserve. For each application: thin, even coat, allow to flash off — often repeated waxing before the first pour on new molds.

No. Silicone sprays leave a water-repellent silicone film that prevents the adhesion of paints, adhesives, and coatings. Do not apply to surfaces that will later be painted or overlaid, or clean thoroughly beforehand with SILISIL Silicone Remover.

Store aerosol can below +50 °C, protect from direct sunlight, keep away from ignition sources. Pressure container — do not forcibly open or incinerate, even after use. In unopened original packaging, shelf life according to SDS — observe the printed expiry date.

Polyester/Epoxy resin composites: Wax-based sprays — Neukadur P6 (UP/EP special), Wax Release Spray G&P (silicone-free, polishable up to +90 °C), Release Spray TRS (silicone-free up to +120 °C). Polyurethane challenges: ACHEM SG-1001S with highest release reserve for multiple demoldings. Food packaging: NSR Food FPS Spray with NSF M1 registration No. 155325. If uncertain about material compatibility, always perform a small test pour.
