Material requirements of this industry
Typical applications in medical technology range from potting electronic assemblies in devices to bonding housings, tubing, and sensors, as well as molding in prototype manufacturing. The requirements for the materials are correspondingly high: biocompatibility according to ISO 10993 or USP Class VI, resistance to sterilization processes such as autoclaving, gamma irradiation, or ethylene oxide (EtO), as well as cleanroom processing and complete traceability. Whether a product meets these requirements always depends on the manufacturer's product-specific information: the technical data sheets and biocompatibility certificates of the respective product are decisive; we provide these upon request. Relevant product groups include silicones for molding and flexible components, UV-curing adhesives and cyanoacrylates for device assembly, and potting compounds for protecting electronic assemblies. SILITECH supports the pre-selection based on manufacturer documentation (TDS, SDS, COA) and batch traceability in the procurement process.
