Permabond UV645 50 ml is the small container variant of the high-viscosity plastic UV adhesive UV645 — same technical specification, ideal for small quantity consumption.

The 50 ml variant offers the same high-viscosity UV adhesive specification as the standard container. Ideal for workshops, service applications, or small series where large volumes are not efficiently consumed.

With 8,000–10,000 mPa·s and long-wave curing at 365–420 nm, UV645 reliably bonds polycarbonate, PVC, and PC/ABS blends — even in vertical applications.

Processing

1
Clean surfaces
Prepare bonding surfaces clean, dry, and free of grease — degrease with isopropanol or acetone. For aluminum/copper, lightly sand to remove the oxide layer. For plastics, check compatibility.
2
Apply adhesive thinly
Apply Permabond UV645 50 ml thinly and evenly — directly from the bottle or via a dispensing device. Keep the adhesive protected from light exposure. Avoid air entrapment.
3
Join and align components
Assemble quickly and precisely. For glass bonding, spread the adhesive into a thin film by applying pressure. Do not move components during UV curing.
4
Cure with UV light
Aim the UV lamp at the bond line. Curing time depends on lamp power, wavelength, and light transmission of the components — typically 1–5 seconds with a 30 W/cm² light guide system, or 5–15 seconds with a 4 mW/cm² low-power lamp.
5
Full strength after UV exposure
After complete UV curing, the components are immediately handleable. Final strength is achieved immediately after irradiation. For dual-cure products (UV + anaerobic), allow an additional 24 hours for complete anaerobic curing of shadow areas.

Frequently asked questions about Permabond UV645 (50 ml)

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Permabond UV645 50 ml is a methacrylic acid ester (UV-curing, long-wave) adhesive with a viscosity of 8,000–10,000 mPa·s @ 20 rpm / 30,000–60,000 mPa·s @ 2.5 rpm. Permabond UV645 in the 50 ml variant — same specification as the standard container. The adhesive cures upon exposure to UV light in the spectral range 365–420 nm — rapid curing "on demand".

Permabond UV645 50 ml cures in the spectral range of 365–420 nm. Suitable are standard UV lamps with mercury vapor, LED UV lamps with matching wavelength, or UV light guide systems. For LED lamps, the maximum wavelength of the LED must be matched to the curing spectrum of the adhesive — we are happy to advise you on the appropriate lamp selection.

The UV curing of Permabond UV645 50 ml depends on lamp power, wavelength, and light transmittance of the components. Typical curing times range from seconds to a few minutes.

Permabond UV645 50 ml reliably bonds: Polycarbonate: >9 N/mm² (substrate failure); PVC: >5 N/mm². For thermoplastic substrates, we recommend checking compatibility before series production — mold release agents on injection-molded parts can impair adhesion.

Permabond UV645 50 ml is a UV adhesive for plastics (high viscosity, 50 ml container) (8,000–10,000 mPa·s @ 20 rpm / 30,000–60,000 mPa·s @ 2.5 rpm viscosity, >70% elongation at break). Permabond UV645 is the standard container (8,000–10,000 mPa·s, >70% elongation at break) — standard packaging.

When stored at 5 to 25 °C and protected from light, Permabond UV645 50 ml remains stable until the printed expiration date. IMPORTANT: UV adhesives cure upon exposure to light — always store the bottle in the dark and open it only briefly under UV-blocked light. For daylight-stable variants (e.g., UV675), processing under ambient light is possible for short periods.

From the Permabond UV series, select based on substrate, viscosity, and special properties: Permabond UV645 50 ml (UV adhesive for plastics (high viscosity, 50 ml container)); Permabond UV645 (standard container); Permabond UV649 (plastic gel); Permabond UV640 (plastic medium). For shadow areas (where UV light does not fully reach the bond gap), a dual-cure variant such as Permabond UV7141 (UV + anaerobic) should be used.
