Nuclear reactor grade dry lubrication

Bonderite L-GP 156 (formerly DAG 156) is a graphite-containing dry lubricant with the highest chemical purity for internal and auxiliary equipment mechanisms of commercial and marine nuclear reactors. Extremely high-purity graphite + thermoplastic in isopropanol form a thin, dry, non-corrosive film with excellent adhesion.

Thoroughly degrease and dust the bonding surfaces — Bonderite L-MR or Permabond Cleaner A.

Homogenize well before use — for concentrates, dilute with the specified solvent if necessary.

Spraying, dipping, brushing, or spraying aerosols — apply a uniform thin layer.

Carrier evaporates — for water-based, heat can accelerate drying.

Polymerization/curing

After evaporation of the carrier (water, solvent, or MIBK), dry film lubricants form a firmly adhering lubricating film of solid lubricant (graphite, MoS₂, PTFE, or boron nitride). Advantages over liquid lubricants: no migration, lifelong lubrication in many applications, high-temperature suitability, substrate versatility (wood, metal, plastic, glass), electrically conductive possible (graphite) or highly insulating (boron nitride).

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically between +5 and +40 °C, exact values see TDS. Protect water-based products from frost. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store aerosol sprays at low temperature and in a well-ventilated area.
