BONDERITE L-GP 580
BONDERITE L-GP 580
Bonderite ·

Bonderite L-GP 580 is a colloidal micrographite dispersion in ethyl alcohol (DAG 580) for odor-sensitive areas — dry lubricant films, electrically conductive coatings, anti-seize for screw threads.

Bonderite L-GP dry film lubricants from Henkel/Acheson — graphite, PTFE, MoS₂, or boron nitride dispersions that, after drying, form a firmly adhering film with a low coefficient of friction and release properties. L-GP 580 is tailored to specific industrial applications — the key properties and areas of application are listed below.

DAG 580 — low-odor graphite system

Bonderite L-GP 580 (formerly DAG 580) is a colloidal micro-graphite dispersion in ethyl alcohol for dry lubricating films and electrically conductive coatings. It is particularly suitable for odor-sensitive areas — machines for cigarette production and the food industry. It is also used as an anti-seize agent for threaded connections and for preventing corona discharge.

Processing

1
Clean substrate
Thoroughly degrease and dust the bonding surfaces — Bonderite L-MR or Permabond Cleaner A.
2
Stir dispersion
Homogenize well before use — for concentrates, dilute with the specified solvent if necessary.
3
Application
Spraying, dipping, brushing, or spraying aerosols — apply a uniform thin layer.
4
Evaporate solvent
Carrier evaporates — for water-based, heat can accelerate drying.
5
Polymerization/curing
At room temperature typically 15 min (BND60A, D31A) to several hours — some require heat curing (e.g., 150 °C for L-GP 333-1).
6
Application
Dry film ready to use — in high-temperature applications, the film continues to cure, and properties improve.

Frequently asked questions about L-GP 580

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Bonderite L-GP 580: Colloidal micro-graphite dispersion in ethyl alcohol (DAG 580) for odor-sensitive areas — dry lubricating films, electrically conductive coatings, anti-seize for screw threads. Main applications: food and tobacco industry, office machines + vending machines, prevention of corona discharge.

After evaporation of the carrier (water, solvent, or MIBK), dry film lubricants form a firmly adhering lubricating film of solid lubricant (graphite, MoS₂, PTFE, or boron nitride). Advantages over liquid lubricants: no migration, lifelong lubrication in many applications, high-temperature suitability, substrate versatility (wood, metal, plastic, glass), electrically conductive possible (graphite) or highly insulating (boron nitride).

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically between +5 and +40 °C, exact values see TDS. Protect water-based products from frost. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store aerosol sprays at low temperature and in a well-ventilated area.

In the comparison table above, you will find related Bonderite products with different properties — different carrier, different solid lubricant, different temperature range, or different application specialization. If you are unsure about the optimal choice, we will be happy to advise you — contact SILITECH with your specific application (substrate, temperature, load, processing workflow).
