BONDERITE L-GP OD Acheson
BONDERITE L-GP OD Acheson
Bonderite · Henkel ·

Bonderite L-GP OD Acheson is a highly stable dispersion of ultra-fine graphite particles in solvent-refined mineral oil (OILDAG) — increases load-carrying capacity, reduces wear in boundary lubrication, and passes through fine oil channels and filters.

Bonderite L-GP greases and oil-based concentrates from Henkel/Acheson — graphite or copper dispersions for high-temperature lubrication, forging tools, and extrusion applications. L-GP OD is tailored to specific industrial applications — the key properties and areas of use are listed below.

OILDAG — Universal Graphite Oil Additive

Bonderite L-GP OD (formerly OILDAG EU) is a highly stable dispersion of pure, ultra-fine graphite particles in solvent-refined mineral oil — increases the load-carrying capacity of mineral oils and reduces wear in boundary lubrication. Maintains stability at high temperatures, prevents seizing and scoring. Can also be used directly for extreme conditions without lubrication.

Processing

1
Prepare the lubrication point
Clean lubrication points — remove old lubricant residues mechanically or with a cleaner.
2
Dilute the concentrate (if necessary)
For concentrates (e.g., L-GP 522, 554/20), dilute with the specified carrier medium.
3
Application
Apply with brush, spatula, swab, or spray application — typically a thin, uniform layer on the hot tool or component.
4
Apply
For pastes, apply manually — for greases, use contact pressure for distribution.
5
Application + protection
Process the workpiece after application — the lubricating film reduces friction and protects against corrosion up to +1'000 °C (AGU+).

Frequently Asked Questions about L-GP OD

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Bonderite L-GP OD Acheson: Highly stable ultrafine graphite particle dispersion in solvent-refined mineral oil (OILDAG) — increases load-carrying capacity, reduces wear in boundary lubrication, passes through fine oil channels and filters. Main applications: high-temperature bearings, assembly lubrication, engine run-in.

Greases and oil-based concentrates (L-GP OD, L-GP YA, L-GP AGU+) are preferred for: 1) lubrication points requiring continuous lubrication (bearings, chain links), 2) very high temperatures combined with corrosive environments (AGU+ up to +1'000 °C), 3) anti-seize requirements with guaranteed disassembly, 4) tool lubrication in hot forming with swab application. Dry films are used where cleanliness and electrical properties are critical.

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically between +5 and +40 °C, exact values see TDS. Protect water-based products from frost. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store aerosol sprays at low temperature and in a well-ventilated area.

In the comparison table above, you will find related Bonderite products with different properties — different carrier, different solid lubricant, different temperature range, or different application specialization. If you are unsure about the optimal choice, we will be happy to advise you — contact SILITECH with your specific application (substrate, temperature, load, processing workflow).
