RTV-1 Silicones. One-component silicone adhesives and sealants

RTV-1 silicones are one-component, moisture-curing silicones that are dispensed ready-to-use from a cartridge or tube. They vulcanize at room temperature through exposure to humidity to form a permanently flexible elastomer and are suitable for sealing, bonding, protecting, and mounting in industrial and construction applications.

Networking systems

Acetoxy crosslinking: rapid skin formation, good adhesion to glass and glazed surfaces, acetic acid odor during curing. Alkoxy and oxime crosslinking: neutral curing and low odor, suitable for electronics and precision mechanics depending on the product; compatibility with sensitive metals can be found in the technical data sheet.

Typical applications

Electronics: Protection of assemblies against moisture and vibration. Industrial seals: FIPG applications and enclosure sealing. Elastic bonding: Flexible bonds with elongation up to 400% depending on the product, according to the technical data sheet. Construction: Joint sealing and glass bonding.

What matters when making your selection

Crucial factors include skin formation time, curing time, elasticity, temperature range, and, above all, adhesion to the specific substrate. Not every substrate will adhere reliably without pretreatment: We recommend testing on the actual substrate and, if necessary, using a suitable primer.
