High-performance casting resin for industry and construction – LOCTITE UK 8101

LOCTITE UK 8101 is a modern, two-component polyurethane-based adhesive specifically designed for structural bonding and casting applications . The unique feature of this material lies in its excellent combination of high strength and elasticity after curing. This makes it ideal for applications where materials need to be joined in a mechanically resilient yet damping or flexible manner .

The resin cures to form a hard-elastic bond that thermal fluctuations as well as mechanical forces . This makes LOCTITE UK 8101 the first choice for numerous industries such as:

  • Vehicle construction: e.g. for walls, roofs or underbody elements in commercial vehicles and special bodies
  • Container and refrigerated vehicle construction: in the production of sandwich panels
  • Construction industry: for facade elements, modular wall or roof elements
  • Mechanical and plant engineering: as a casting resin for filling and embedding components
  • Composite materials: in prototype construction or in series applications with rigid foams, metals or plastic sheets

The application process is simple and flexible: The product is mixed at a ratio of 4:1 (by weight) and can be easily poured or applied. The long pot life of 50 to 70 minutes provides ample time for precise work – ideal for complex or large-area applications.

Reliability that lasts – even under extreme conditions

LOCTITE UK 8101 remains stable even under fluctuating temperatures or heavy loads. The bond retains its shapewithout shrinkage or embrittlement – a clear advantage for structures that must function for years.

After complete curing, the system achieves a tensile shear strength of over 6 MPa, within a usable temperature range of -40 °C to +80 °C. Curing typically takes place at room temperature over 5–7 days. If required, this process can be accelerated by moderate heat application (e.g., 60 °C).

Further technical advantages at a glance

  • Excellent adhesion to various substrates such as aluminium, steel, wood, rigid foam boards or GRP.
  • Solvent-free processing – environmentally friendly and low-odor
  • Uniform hardening without volume shrinkage
  • Easy post-processing after hardening by drilling, sawing or grinding
  • Permanent structural strength even under vibration or shock loads

Efficient solution for industrial challenges

Whether for the mass production of panels or individual, specialized solutions in building construction – LOCTITE UK 8101 adapts to your requirements. The adhesive can be processed using manual mixing systems or industrial 2K mixing plants. Application is carried out directly onto the components, with sufficient contact pressure being crucial until initial strength is achieved.

For clean application, we recommend mixing exactly the amount that will be used within the pot life. Excess material oozing from the adhesive gap is a good sign of even distribution.
