Processing

Clean threads
Degrease and dust internal and external threads with Permabond Cleaner A.

Apply thread-locking lacquer
Apply a medium amount to the first few turns of the external thread.

Tighten the screw
Screw in immediately and tighten with standard torque — excess paint will be displaced.

Curing in the absence of air
Cross-linking in the thread gap. Handling strength after 10–20 min, final strength after 24 h.
5
Disassembly if required
Removable with standard tools (medium strength). If necessary, apply heat above 80 °C.

Threadlocking compounds are available in three strength classes: low strength (can be removed by hand), medium strength (can be removed with standard tools—e.g., MM 115 blue), and high strength (can only be removed with heat or special tools). Medium strength is the most common choice for maintenance/service applications—it prevents loosening due to vibration but can be removed again if necessary.

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — Permabond adhesives typically between +5 and +25 °C, exact values see TDS. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store cyanoacrylates cool (ideally refrigerated) for maximum shelf life.
