processing

1
clean substrate
Degrease and dust metallic bonding surfaces with Permabond Cleaner A — contaminants prevent cross-linking.
2
Initiator (for inactive metals)
For stainless steel or other inactive metals: Brush on Permabond Initiator 41 or activator.
3
Apply anaerobic adhesive
Drops or thin film onto one of the two metal surfaces.
4
assembling components
Immediately assemble the components — crosslinking begins in the absence of air between the metal surfaces.
5
Curing
Handling strength after 10–30 min, final strength after 24 h. For H₂ or drinking water applications, wait for full crosslinking.

Frequently asked questions about F 201 HV

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Permabond F 201 HV: High-strength anaerobic adhesive with hydrogen certification (KIWA KE214) — specifically for H₂ systems, valves and couplings, EN751-1 and Gastec QA compliant. Main applications: Hydrogen systems, gas connections, drinking water systems.

Anaerobic adhesives crosslink between active metal surfaces in the absence of air. As long as the adhesive is in contact with oxygen (open bottle, thin layer exposed to air), it remains liquid. When it is enclosed between two metal surfaces, crosslinking begins within minutes. Ideal for thread locking, bushings, shaft-hub connections—anywhere metal is bonded to metal with a narrow gap.

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — Permabond adhesives typically between +5 and +25 °C, see TDS for exact values. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store cyanoacrylates in a cool place (ideally refrigerated) for maximum shelf life.

The comparison table above lists related Permabond products with different properties—viscosity, mixing ratio, special certification. If you are unsure which product is best, we would be happy to advise you—contact SILITECH with your specific application (substrate pairing, load, curing conditions).
