Permabond TA452 is a high-strength toughened acrylic structural adhesive — 28–32 N/mm² steel shear strength, comparable to aerospace level for demanding industrial structures.
With a steel tensile strength of 28–32 N/mm², TA452 is among the strongest industrial MMAs in the Permabond range—only TA4246 (Aerospace) is stronger. It's the choice when maximum strength is required without the aerospace certification premium.
High-strength toughened acrylic structural adhesive — 28–32 N/mm² steel shear strength approaches aerospace levels (TA4246 with 33–35 N/mm²). Premium choice for demanding industrial structural bonding applications.

Frequently asked questions about Permabond TA 452
Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.
High-strength toughened acrylic — 28–32 N/mm² steel, MMA structural adhesive.
TA series MMA structural adhesives typically operate using a no-mix process: initiator on one surface, adhesive on the other – upon joining, the initiator activates the adhesive. Mixing ratio: —. Handling strength after 2–10 minutes, final strength after 24 hours at 23 °C.
MMA (methyl methacrylate) structural adhesives offer higher impact and peel strength than conventional two-component epoxies—important for dynamically stressed bonds. The no-mix application with a separate initiator eliminates pot life limitations. Curing time is typically faster (minutes instead of hours).
Permabond TA452 bonds reliably: Steel: 28–32 N/mm². Substrate failure is common with polycarbonate and PVC (bond stronger than material).
Permabond TA452 does not have specific aerospace approvals like TA4246 (Boeing/Airbus). For industrial applications without aerospace requirements, the product is approved according to Permabond standards.
Permabond TA452 is Toughened Acrylic — High Strength (28–32 N/mm² steel) (— Mix). Permabond TA 4246 is Aerospace 10:1 (10:1) — Boeing+Airbus.
From the Permabond MMA series: Permabond TA452 (Toughened Acrylic — High Strength (28–32 N/mm² steel)); Permabond TA4246 (Aerospace 10:1); Permabond TA4550 (Toughened Acrylic); Permabond TA4522 (Toughened Acrylic). For premium aerospace grade, see TA4246 (Boeing and Airbus approved). For maximum industrial strength without the aerospace surcharge, see TA452.
