Product Description

SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade is a paintable silicone fluid (cas 68037-76-3) — protective impregnation without release agent effect for paints.

SILISIL Silicone Oils are high-purity linear polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) liquids with a purity of 100%. Their viscosity (modified) cSt defines their application range—from lubrication and release agents to hydraulic functions and specialized care and industrial applications.

Paintable — no beading

Standard PDMS causes beading on subsequent coatings. Paintable Grade is a modified silicone oil variant that remains impregnated AND paintable — the solution for applications where silicone and subsequent coating must be combined.

What distinguishes SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade

Paintable
Maintains the silicone protective function without a release agent effect for subsequent paints.
Modified PDMS chemistry
CAS 68037-76-3 — special modification for paint compatibility.
Hydrophobic function
Water-repellent effect is maintained.
Impregnation with paintability
It impregnates substrates (e.g., wood, concrete) and allows subsequent painting.
Versatile
Industrial and construction applications with combined silicone/paint requirements.
Special formulation
Unlike standard PDMS for more demanding application profiles.

What is SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade used for?

Building impregnation
Wood and concrete impregnation with subsequent paintability.
Furniture treatment
Water protection and care without a separating agent effect for subsequent treatments.
Industrial impregnation
Components that are to be impregnated AND painted.
Restorative application
Antique and restoration work with combined protection and varnishing needs.
Special release agent
Application of release agent followed by painting.
Architectural conservation
Stone and concrete hydrophobing with paint compatibility.

Important Notes

Storage & Handling
Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place (ideally <60 °C). Avoid eye contact. Consult the SDS before opening.
Solvent compatibility
Soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents. Not miscible with water and alcohols.
Release agent effect before painting
Standard PDMS prevents paint adhesion on subsequent coatings. For paintable applications, choose SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade.

Frequently Asked Questions about SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade: Paintable silicone fluid (CAS 68037-76-3) — protective impregnation without release agent effect for paints. Main applications are building impregnation, furniture treatment, and industrial impregnation.

PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) is a linear silicone fluid that combines high thermal stability, low surface tension, very good dielectric properties, and broad temperature resistance. The viscosity (measured in centistokes, cSt) determines the field of application — low viscosities are suitable for volatile applications and lubrication, high viscosities for damping and conditioners.

SILISIL Silicone Oils are soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents (e.g., toluene, xylene, hexane, diesel). They are not miscible with water and alcohols. For anti-foam applications, high-viscosity PDMS is diluted in hydrocarbon solvents and introduced using a dosing pump.

Store in the unopened original container at room temperature (ideally below 60 °C). Avoid eye contact. SILISIL Silicone Oils are generally non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless — nevertheless, consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), which is available in the "Documents" tab.

The viscosity determines the application. (modified) cSt is optimal for: building impregnation and similar application profiles. For other application characteristics, you will find related viscosities in the comparison table above — if you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you on your specific application.
