2K spray silicones from the SILISIL series — platinum-catalyzed addition silicones, optimized for pneumatic spray application for spray mold making, vertical impressions, vacuum forming tools, and multi-layer jacket molds. ZA 26 Spray A WT 10 THIXO is tailored to specific industrial and workshop applications — the key properties and areas of use are listed below.

SILISIL ZA 26 Spray A WT 10 THIXO is the base component of a thixotropic 2K spray silicone. The integrated thixotropy keeps the sprayed material on vertical surfaces without running off — shear-thinning when sprayed, stable on the object. Ideal for taking impressions on walls, sculptures, and overhead situations. Important: can only be processed in combination with the matching B component (SILISIL ZA 26 Spray B).

Processing

Prepare the original and spray area
Clean, dry, and dust-free original. Spray booth with good ventilation — processing temperature 20–25 °C, relative humidity 40–60 %.

Homogenize and insert components
Stir both components (A + B) separately before use and insert into the 2K spray system — exact mixing ratio see TDS.

Test spray gun
Test the spray pattern on a sample cardboard — adjust for an even, thin layer thickness without drips or splatters.

Spray on the first thin layer
Spray evenly from a distance of 25–35 cm — apply the first layer thinly and fully covering as a detail layer.

Build up multiple layers
Allow to briefly dry between layers (typically 3–5 layers for complete mold build-up). The thixotropic version can also be applied vertically without issues.

Vulcanize and demold
Pot life and demolding time per TDS — typical pot life 6–15 min, demolding after 30–60 min, curing phase 24 h for maximum strength.

SILISIL ZA 26 SPRAY A WT 10 THIXO: A-component of a thixotropic 2K spray silicone for vertical and overhead molding — Shore A 26, shear-thinning when sprayed, sag-resistant on vertical surfaces, processable only in combination with ZA 26 Spray B. Main applications: Vertical molding, architectural restoration, film / SFX.

Platinum-curing spray silicones are sensitive to crosslinking inhibitors — sulfur, amine, tin, and phosphorus compounds can locally stop vulcanization. Avoid latex gloves, sulfur-containing modeling compounds, some adhesive tapes, and PVC plasticizers near the mold. Processing is ideally carried out at 23 °C, 40–60 % rH. Stir both components separately before placing them into the 2K spray system. Several thin spray layers are better than one thick layer.

No. Silicone sprays leave a water-repellent silicone film that prevents the adhesion of paints, adhesives, and coatings. Do not apply to surfaces that will later be painted or overlaid, or clean thoroughly beforehand with SILISIL Silicone Remover.

Store aerosol can below +50 °C, protect from direct sunlight, keep away from ignition sources. Pressure container — do not forcibly open or incinerate, even after use. In unopened original packaging, shelf life according to SDS — observe the printed expiry date.

Standard 1:1 mix with 6 min pot life: SILISIL RTV MF-Spray 25-6 (3582). Extended pot life for multi-layer builds: MF-Spray 25-6 Retarded (4128). Thixotropic for vertical surfaces: MF-SprayThixo 25-10 (3583). Pneumatic spray application Shore A 22: VI 22 Spray WT 2 (622). Industrial 2K spray system thixotropic: ZA 26 Spray A + B (1708/1709). Zhermack original brand available as variant to VI 22 (3910) and ZA 26 (3897).
