Frequently asked questions about L-FG F 605
Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.
Bonderite L-FG F 605: Graphite-free, water-based die lubricant with synthetic lubricants — specially formulated for hot forging of ferrous metals on presses and hammers, non-toxic, clean workplace. Main applications: Hot forging of ferrous metals, cutting and grinding, corrosion protection even at low concentrations.
Forging release agents are applied to the hot forging tool and, at tool temperature, form a lubricating film of microfine graphite (or synthetic lubricants in graphite-free variants such as F 605). This reduces friction between the workpiece and die, extends tool life, and allows for higher dilution ratios. Bonderite L-FG 31 + F 31 (Deltaforge) are the most widely used standards worldwide.
Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically between +5 and +40 °C, see TDS for exact values. Protect water-based products from freezing. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store aerosol sprays at a low temperature and in a well-ventilated area.
In the comparison table above, you will find related Bonderite products with different properties—different carrier media, different solid lubricants, different temperature ranges, or different application specializations. If you are unsure about the optimal choice, we would be happy to advise you—contact SILITECH with your specific application (substrate, temperature, load, processing workflow).
