Bonderite L-GP 156 Acheson (0.39 kg) is a high-purity, solvent-based graphite thermoplastic dispersion (DAG 156) for dry lubrication in commercial and marine nuclear reactor systems — highest chemical purity, non-corrosive.

Bonderite L-GP dry film lubricants from Henkel/Acheson — graphite, PTFE, MoS₂, or boron nitride dispersions that, after drying, form a tightly adhering film with a low coefficient of friction and release properties. L-GP 156 is tailored to specific industrial applications — the most important properties and areas of application are listed below.

Nuclear reactor-grade dry lubrication

Bonderite L-GP 156 (formerly DAG 156) is a graphite-containing dry lubricant of the highest chemical purity for internal and auxiliary equipment mechanisms of commercial and marine nuclear reactors. Extremely high-purity graphite and thermoplastic in isopropanol form a thin, dry, non-corrosive film with excellent adhesion.

processing

1
clean substrate
Thoroughly degrease and dust the bonding surfaces — Bonderite L-MR or Permabond Cleaner A.
2
Stir the dispersion
Homogenize thoroughly before use — for concentrates, dilute with the specified solvent if necessary.
3
Apply
Spraying, dipping, brushing or, in the case of aerosols, spraying on — an even, thin layer.
4
Solvents evaporate
The carrier substance evaporates — in the case of water-based products, heat can accelerate drying.
5
Polymerization/Curing
At room temperature, typically 15 minutes (BND60A, D31A) to several hours — some require heat curing (e.g. 150 °C for L-GP 333-1).
6
Mission
Dry film ready for use — in high-temperature applications, the film continues to harden, improving its properties.

Frequently asked questions about L-GP 156

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Bonderite L-GP 156 Acheson (0.39 kg): High-purity, solvent-based graphite thermoplastic dispersion (DAG 156) for dry lubrication in commercial and marine nuclear reactor systems — highest chemical purity, non-corrosive. Main applications: Commercial nuclear reactors, marine nuclear reactors, nuclear auxiliary equipment.

Dry film lubricants form a firmly adhering lubricating film of solid lubricant (graphite, MoS₂, PTFE, or boron nitride) after the carrier substance (water, solvent, or MIBK) evaporates. Advantages over liquid lubricants include: no migration, lifetime lubrication in many applications, suitability for high temperatures, substrate versatility (wood, metal, plastic, glass), and the possibility of electrical conductivity (graphite) or high insulation (boron nitride).

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically between +5 and +40 °C, see TDS for exact values. Protect water-based products from freezing. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store aerosol sprays at a low temperature and in a well-ventilated area.

In the comparison table above, you will find related Bonderite products with different properties—different carrier media, different solid lubricants, different temperature ranges, or different application specializations. If you are unsure about the optimal choice, we would be happy to advise you—contact SILITECH with your specific application (substrate, temperature, load, processing workflow).
