Product description
LOCTITE 406 is a one-component, transparent cyanoacrylate-based superglue. Its special formula ensures extremely fast setting and high final strength, particularly on plastics and rubber. Thanks to its low viscosity, LOCTITE 406 flows reliably into even the finest gaps, enabling invisible, highly stable bonds with minimal adhesive gaps.
Curing occurs through exposure to atmospheric humidity, achieving a high degree of handling strength within seconds – ideal for manufacturing processes, repairs, assembly, or model making. After 24 hours, the bond is fully load-bearing and resistant to many chemicals and temperature fluctuations. LOCTITE 406 is universally applicable and adheres excellently to modern engineering plastics such as ABS, PVC, polycarbonate, and phenolic resin, as well as to classic elastomers such as neoprene and nitrile rubber.
Due to its fast and reliable curing, LOCTITE 406 is ideally suited for industrial manufacturing, apparatus and plant construction, as well as all assembly and repair work where fast process times and maximum precision are required.

Processing instructions
- Preparation: Keep bonding surfaces clean and free of grease (pretreat with LOCTITE cleaner if necessary).
- Primer: A primer can be used for plastics that are difficult to bond.
- Instructions: Apply a drop of LOCTITE 406 to one of the surfaces, immediately join them together and hold briefly.
- Fixation: The adhesive reaches hand strength within a few seconds, and full final strength after approximately 24 hours.
- Cleaning: Excess, uncured adhesive can be removed with acetone.
Note: LOCTITE 406 is specially optimized for demanding bonding applications involving plastic and rubber, and impresses with its maximum speed and reliability.
