LOCTITE SF 7455 is a cyanoacrylate activator spray specifically designed to accelerate the curing of LOCTITE instant adhesives. It bonds steel with LOCTITE 416 in just 10 seconds. Universal material compatibility for metals, plastics, glass, and ceramics. Colorless to light amber, very low viscosity, can be applied by spray, drop, or brush. Evaporates without leaving any residue.

Prepare the adhesive surface
Bonding surfaces should be clean, dry, and free of grease. If necessary, degrease with Cleaner A aerosol.

Shake the aerosol can
Shake the activator can briefly before use.

Spray application — pretreatment or post-treatment
Pretreatment: Spray activator onto the bonding surface, allow to evaporate (~30 sec), then apply CA adhesive. Posttreatment: Apply adhesive, join, then spray activator onto any excess adhesive.

Apply and join adhesive
For pretreatment, apply the CA adhesive within 5 minutes of applying the activator. For posttreatment: join the adhesive immediately, then apply the activator for instant fixation.

Wait for it to harden
For steel + LOCTITE 416: approximately 10 seconds until setting. For other substrates and adhesives, see TDS — typically 20–60 seconds.

Final curing
Full curing strength after 24 hours. Observe this time before mechanical stress — protection against stress/load failure.

No. Silicone sprays leave a water-repellent silicone film that prevents paints, adhesives, and coatings from adhering. Do not use on surfaces that will later be painted or covered with adhesive film—or clean thoroughly beforehand with SILISIL Silicone Remover.

Store the aerosol can below +50 °C, protect from direct sunlight, and keep away from ignition sources. Do not forcibly open or incinerate pressurized containers, even after use. Shelf life in the unopened original container is according to SDS; please note the printed expiration date.
