Permabond 130UV is a dual-cure cyanoacrylate adhesive — it cures with both UV light and atmospheric humidity. This combines the speed of UV curing with the substrate independence of classic cyanoacrylates.
With a viscosity of only 200 mPa·s, low blooming, and transparent appearance after curing, Permabond 130UV is ideal for visible components, optical applications, and medical devices. The product meets ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity testing requirements and is RoHS compliant.
A special feature: Permabond 130UV passes the demanding 85 °C / 85% relative humidity test — qualifying it for automotive and HVAC applications. Its service temperature up to 120 °C significantly surpasses that of standard cyanoacrylates.
ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity passed — biocompatible tested, qualified for medical and hygiene-related applications.

Frequently asked questions about Permabond 130UV
Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.
Permabond 130UV is a low-viscosity, dual-cure cyanoacrylate adhesive (200 mPa·s) — it cures with both UV light and atmospheric humidity. Ideal for visible components, optical applications, medical devices (passed ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity test), and automotive electronics (passed 85/85 test). Service temperature 120 °C — significantly higher than standard cyanoacrylates.
Dual-cure means two curing mechanisms in one adhesive. Permabond 130UV cures primarily through UV light (315–400 nm UV-A) tack-free in seconds — and simultaneously through atmospheric humidity, even in shaded areas where UV light cannot reach. This is the crucial advantage over pure UV adhesives: components with complex geometries or concealed bonding zones cure reliably, without leaving any uncured material.
Permabond 130UV passes the ISO 10993-5 cytotoxicity test —the fundamental biocompatibility test for medical devices. This means that 130UV is generally suitable for bonding medical devices, diagnostic tools, and patient-contact plastic hardware. Important: ISO 10993-5 is only one part of the comprehensive ISO 10993 framework. For each specific medical device, further application-specific tests (sensitization, irritation, etc.) may be required.
Permabond 130UV cures even with low-power UV lamps—simple UV-A lamps in the 315–400 nm range are sufficient. A special high-power UV curing system is not necessary. Even handheld UV lamps for adhesive curing will work. For the fastest curing, we recommend LED UV lamps with a peak at approximately 365 or 385 nm.
Permabond 130UV reliably bonds ABS, acrylic, aluminum, EPDM, steel, nylon 6, polycarbonate, PET-G, PMMA, PVC, rubber, and stainless steel. A special feature: Unlike pure UV adhesives, 130UV also bonds rubber reliably—the cyanoacrylate component overcomes this typical UV limitation. For polypropylene, polyethylene, PTFE, and silicone, pretreatment with Permabond POP Primer required.
Permabond 130UV should be stored unopened in a cool place at 2 to 7 °C and protected from light. Allow to warm to room temperature before opening. Opened bottles remain functional for several months if stored correctly. Light protection is particularly important with 130UV, as the UV cure component can react prematurely in stray light.
For medical devices (ISO 10993-5), visible components, optics, automotive electronics, and applications with higher service temperatures (120 °C), Permabond 130UV the right choice. For micro-gap/wicking applications, use Permabond 101.For general-purpose applications with larger gaps, use Permabond 102.For demanding rubber bonding applications, use Permabond 105.For maximum steel strength, Permabond 910.For vibration/impact applications, use 2050 or 240.
