Product Description

BONDERITE S-AD 1246 is a stable suspension of uniformly microscopic molybdenum disulfide particles in high-purity mineral oil (SLA 1246) — significantly reduces friction, improves extreme-pressure and anti-wear properties, MoS₂ additive for engine oils.

Bonderite S-AD lubricant additives from Henkel/Acheson — stable MoS₂ dispersions in high-purity mineral oil as a high-performance additive for engine and industrial oils. S-AD 1246 is tailored to specific industrial applications — the most important properties and areas of application are listed below.

SLA 1246 — MoS₂ additive for engine oils

Bonderite S-AD 1246 (formerly SLA 1246 EU) is an extremely stable suspension of uniformly microscopic molybdenum disulfide particles in high-purity mineral oil. It significantly reduces friction and improves extreme-pressure and anti-wear properties, preventing metal-to-metal contact and surface scuffing. It is a MoS₂ additive for single-grade and multi-grade API SD-SE/CC-CD engine oils.

Processing

1
Select base oil
Select a suitable mineral oil according to the application (engine oil API SD-SE/CC-CD or industrial oil).
2
Stir the additive before use
Thoroughly homogenize Bonderite S-AD 1246 before mixing — MoS₂ particles must be evenly distributed.
3
Dosage
Stir into the base oil in the specified ratio (see TDS — typically 1–5% concentration).
4
Mix
Stir at low speed for several minutes — no air pockets, even dispersion.
5
Application
Use modified lubricating oil in engines or industrial lubrication applications — improved EP/antiwear performance.

Frequently asked questions about S-AD 1246

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

BONDERITE S-AD 1246: Stable suspension of uniformly microscopic molybdenum disulfide particles in high-purity mineral oil (SLA 1246) — significantly reduces friction, improves extreme pressure and anti-wear properties, MoS₂ additive for engine oils. Main applications: Engine oil formulation, industrial lubricating oil additive, extreme pressure improvement.

Bonderite S-AD 1246 is a MoS₂ mineral oil suspension that is blended into standard lubricating oils—typically at concentrations of 1–5%. MoS₂ improves extreme pressure and antiwear properties, reduces friction, and provides protection under boundary conditions. Applications: Engine oils (API SD-SE / CC-CD), industrial lubricating oils, heavy-duty applications. Homogenize the additive thoroughly before mixing.

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — typically between +5 and +40 °C, exact values see TDS. Protect water-based products from frost. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store aerosol sprays at low temperature and in a well-ventilated area.
