SILISIL RTV MD-Skin 10 is a room temperature vulcanizing 2-component silicone from the MD — Medical (Dental, Podiatry, Skin Contact)series (Addition (Platinum), skin-compatible, RTV-2) — Skin-compatible lifecasting silicone Shore A 10 for safe body casts and FX applications.

The mixture is prepared in a 1:1 ratio by weight . Pot life at 23 °C is approximately 7 minutes, demolding is possible after approximately 30 minutes, and complete curing takes 24 hours. Temperature resistant from -40 °C to +200 °C.

Processing

Prepare the original
Clean, dry, and dust-free surface at 23 °C — cooler environments significantly extend pot life and curing time.

Mix components
Stir base and catalyst thoroughly before use. Weigh out 1:1 by weight. Mix in thoroughly, including container walls and bottom.

Vacuum degassing
Briefly degas under vacuum for a pore-free mold — entrapped air is removed and a smooth mold surface is guaranteed.

Processing
Pour in a thin stream from approx. 30 cm height — minimal air entrapment.

Vulcanize and demold
At 23 °C, demolding is possible after approximately 30 minutes, with complete hardening after 24 hours.

Important Notes

Avoid crosslinking inhibitors
Addition system (platinum) — sensitive to sulfur, amine, tin, and phosphorus compounds. Avoid contact with latex gloves and PVC plasticizers.
Storage and Shelf Life
Shelf life of at least 12 months in unopened original container when stored in a dry, cool place (10–25 °C). Consult the SDS before opening.
Available containers

Compatibility
Compatible with polyurethane, epoxy, and polyester casting resins. For aggressive resins, apply a release agent.

SILISIL RTV MD-Skin 10 is an addition-based (platinum), skin-compatible system. This addition-based system (platinum) is sensitive to sulfur, amine, tin, and phosphorus compounds. Avoid contact with latex gloves and PVC plasticizers.

SILISIL RTV MD-Skin 10 is mixed in a 1:1 ratio by weight (base to catalyst). Homogenize both components separately before mixing, then thoroughly incorporate them – including the container walls and bottom.

SILISIL RTV MD-Skin 10 achieves a Shore A hardness of 10 (ASTM D 2240), a tensile strength of 3.5 N/mm² (ASTM D 412), an elongation at break of approximately 600% and a tear resistance of 11 N/mm (ASTM D 624).
