SILISIL Silicone Oil 10 cSt
SILISIL ·

SILISIL Silicone Oil 10 cSt is a high-quality industrial silicone oil for lubrication, hydraulics, damping and electrical insulation.

SILISIL Silicone Oils are high-purity linear polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) liquids with a purity of 100%. Their viscosity of 10 cSt defines their application range—from lubrication and release agents to hydraulic functions and specialized care and industrial applications.

Excellent lubrication properties

10 cSt is one of the most widely used PDMS viscosities in industry — combining excellent lubrication with low vapor pressure and very good dielectric properties.

What distinguishes SILISIL Silicone Oil 10 cSt

Excellent wetting
Spreads evenly on metal, plastic and elastomers — minimal consumption.
Water repellent
Very low surface energy ~20 dyn/cm — best hydrophobicity.
Thermally and oxidatively stable
Resistant to heat up to +200 °C without resinification.
Electrically insulating
High volume resistivity 10¹⁵ Ω·cm and dielectric strength 14 kV/mm.
Low volatility
Low vapor pressure — consistent lubrication over a long period of time.
Low-temperature resistant
Freezing point -65 °C — suitable for refrigeration and deep-freeze applications.

What is SILISIL Silicone Oil 10 cSt used for?

Elastomer/plastic lubrication
Lubricates rubber and plastic friction pairs on metal — sensors, switches, actuators.
Low-temperature hydraulics
Hydraulics in cooling systems, freezers and refrigeration technology operating below -40 °C.
Capacitor impregnation
Dielectric medium for capacitor paper and electronic potting.
Thinner for RTV silicones
Reduces the viscosity of higher viscosity RTV silicones in formulations.
Defoaming additive
Antifoam effect in industrial processes with low dosage.
Damping fluid
Hydraulic dampers in precision instruments and measuring equipment.

Important Notes

Storage & Handling
Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place (ideally <60 °C). Avoid eye contact. Consult the SDS before opening.
Solvent compatibility
Soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents. Not miscible with water and alcohols.
Release agent effect before painting
Standard PDMS prevents paint adhesion on subsequent coatings. For paintable applications, choose SILISIL Silicone Oil – Paintable Grade.

Frequently asked questions about SILISIL Silicone Oil 10 cSt

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

SILISIL Silicone Oil 10 cSt: High-quality industrial silicone oil for lubrication, hydraulics, damping, and electrical insulation. Main applications include elastomer/plastic lubrication, low-temperature hydraulics, and capacitor impregnation.

PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) is a linear silicone fluid that combines high thermal stability, low surface tension, very good dielectric properties, and broad temperature resistance. The viscosity (measured in centistokes, cSt) determines the field of application — low viscosities are suitable for volatile applications and lubrication, high viscosities for damping and conditioners.

SILISIL Silicone Oils are soluble in aromatic, aliphatic, and chlorinated solvents (e.g., toluene, xylene, hexane, diesel). They are not miscible with water and alcohols. For anti-foam applications, high-viscosity PDMS is diluted in hydrocarbon solvents and introduced using a dosing pump.

Store in the unopened original container at room temperature (ideally below 60 °C). Avoid eye contact. SILISIL Silicone Oils are generally non-toxic, odorless, and tasteless — nevertheless, consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS), which is available in the "Documents" tab.

Viscosity determines the application. 10 cSt is optimal for elastomer/plastic lubrication and similar application profiles. For other application characteristics, you will find related viscosities in the comparison table above — if you are unsure, we will be happy to advise you on your specific application.
