Luborflon MS 20 is a pTFE aerosol release agent for rubber and thermosetting plastics — silicone-free up to +300 °C, with adhesion additives for metal surfaces and a particle size of 3–4 μm for a uniform non-stick dry film.

Release sprays for composite and reaction casting applications — wax- and silicone-based spray release agents for the clean demolding of polyester, epoxy, and polyurethane resins in model making, boat building, automotive body construction, and industrial applications. Luborflon MS 20 is tailored to specific industrial and workshop applications — the most important properties and areas of application can be found below.

PTFE dry film up to +300 °C — silicone-free

Sansil Luborflon MS 20 is an aerosol dispersion of a PTFE telomer in solvent — specially developed as a release agent for molding rubber and thermosetting plastics. High-temperature resistant up to +300 °C, silicone-free. Additives improve the adhesion of the PTFE particles to metal surfaces. Aerosol spraying produces a very uniform film with 3–4 μm particles — excellent non-stick and dry lubrication properties. Mixing ball for homogenization — shake the bottle before each use.

What makes Luborflon MS 20 stand out

PTFE dry film lubrication
Non-stick and dry lubrication properties without migration onto the component.
High temperature resistant up to +300 °C
Also suitable for high-temperature vulcanization and thermosetting curing.
Silicone-free
No impairment of subsequent painting, bonding or coating steps on the component.
Improved adhesion to metal
Special additives ensure that the PTFE particles adhere securely to tool surfaces.
Fine particle size 3–4 μm
Very even film quality, even in fine structures and undercuts.
Mixing ball in aerosol
Ensuring homogeneity — shake before each use, audibly move the mixing ball.

What is Luborflon MS 20 used for?

Rubber vulcanization
Release agent for molding rubber components — also in hot pressing applications.
Thermoset mold making
Phenol, melamine and urea resin molds with dry film separation.
Silicone-sensitive processes
Recommended where silicone release agents are excluded (pre-vulcanization applications).
Tool protection when working with sticky resins
Protection against the adhesion of particularly aggressive or sticky resins.
High-temperature presses
Press molds up to +300 °C without evaporation of the release film.
Non-stick coated tools
General non-stick coating of tools for sticky materials.

processing

1
Prepare the form
The mold must be clean, grease-free, and silicone-free. Pre-seal absorbent surfaces. For new molds, multiple applications of wax are recommended to close micropores.
2
Acclimate the release agent
Bring the aerosol can to room temperature (approx. 20 °C) before use — spraying it cold will result in uneven layers.
3
Shake the aerosol can
Stir thoroughly before and during use — active ingredients must be homogeneously distributed in the propellant.
4
Spray from a distance of 20–30 cm
Apply slowly and evenly in a thin layer — all areas of the mold must be coated with the release agent.
5
Allow to air dry for 10–60 minutes
Drying time varies depending on the product — solvents must evaporate completely. For wax release sprays, optionally polish with a soft cotton cloth (caution — friction generates heat; the release film should not be polished away).
6
Re-spray as needed
Repeat the process if the release agent effect diminishes. A film of release agent will build up in the mold with repeated use — periodic cleaning with release agent remover is necessary.

Frequently asked questions about Luborflon MS 20

Practical questions regarding application and compatibility — answered by SILITECH.

Luborflon MS 20: PTFE aerosol release agent for rubber and thermosetting plastics — silicone-free up to +300 °C, with adhesion additives for metal surfaces and a particle size of 3–4 μm for a uniform, non-stick dry film. Main applications: rubber vulcanization, thermoset mold making, silicone-sensitive processes.

For polyester (UP) and epoxy resin (EP), wax-based sprays are standard (Neukadur P6, G&P wax release spray, TRS release spray) — silicone-free, they allow the component to be painted/bonded. For difficult polyurethane demolding with high requirements or multiple cycles, the silicone-containing ACHEM SG-1001S offers the highest release resistance. For each application: apply a thin, even coat, allow to flash off — often several coats of wax are necessary before the first casting with new molds.

No. Silicone sprays leave a water-repellent silicone film that prevents paints, adhesives, and coatings from adhering. Do not use on surfaces that will later be painted or covered with adhesive film—or clean thoroughly beforehand with SILISIL Silicone Remover.

Store the aerosol can below +50 °C, protect from direct sunlight, and keep away from ignition sources. Do not forcibly open or incinerate pressurized containers, even after use. Shelf life in the unopened original container is according to SDS; please note the printed expiration date.

Polyester/epoxy resin composites: Wax-based sprays — Neukadur P6 (UP/EP special), Wax Release Spray G&P (silicone-free, polishable up to +90 °C), Release Spray TRS (silicone-free up to +120 °C). Polyurethane difficulties: ACHEM SG-1001S with maximum release reserve for multiple demoldings. Food packaging: NSR Food FPS Spray with NSF M1 registration no. 155325. If unsure about material compatibility, always make a small test casting.
