Processing

1
Clean substrate
Degrease bonding surfaces with Permabond Cleaner A or acetone — also critical in industrial applications.
2
POP Primer (if needed)
Apply Permabond POP Primer to low-energy substrates (PP, PE, PTFE, silicone).
3
Activator CSA (if needed)
For porous or difficult substrates, spray CSA aerosol before applying CA.
4
Apply CA adhesive
Thixotropic gel or liquid CA — apply a small amount to an adhesive surface.
5
Joining + pressing
Join components immediately, applying sufficient pressure for thin film formation.
6
Curing
Superglue — quick to set. Final strength after 24 hours. For flexible CAs, peel and impact strength are achieved after full curing.

Frequently asked questions about 743 HT

Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.

Permabond 743 HT: High-temperature cyanoacrylate with high flexibility — significantly increased peel, vibration, and impact strength, compensates for differential thermal expansion. Main applications: Multi-material bonding with thermal expansion, vibration-stressed bonding, high-temperature industrial applications.

Flexible cyanoacrylates contain modifiers that, after curing, result in an elastic rather than a brittle, rigid adhesive bond. Advantages include significantly higher peel, impact, and vibration resistance, as well as tolerance compensation between substrates with different thermal expansion. Standard cyanoacrylates are susceptible to brittle fracture under these stresses—flexible variants withstand them much better.

Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — Permabond adhesives typically between +5 and +25 °C, exact values see TDS. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store cyanoacrylates cool (ideally refrigerated) for maximum shelf life.

In the comparison table above, you will find related Permabond products with different properties — viscosity, mixing ratio, special certification. If you are unsure about the optimal choice, we will be happy to advise you — contact SILITECH with your specific application (substrate pairing, load, curing condition).
