Frequently asked questions about AG 748
Practical application and design questions — answered by SILITECH.
Permabond AG 748: Cyanoacrylate with a thixotropic gel consistency and high flexibility — significantly increased peel, vibration, and impact resistance, ideal for vertical and overhead applications. Main applications: Vertical bonding, overhead applications, multi-material bonding.
Flexible cyanoacrylates contain modifiers that, after curing, result in an elastic rather than a brittle, rigid adhesive bond. Advantages include significantly higher peel, impact, and vibration resistance, as well as tolerance compensation between substrates with different thermal expansion. Standard cyanoacrylates are susceptible to brittle fracture under these stresses—flexible variants withstand them much better.
Store in the unopened original container in a dry, cool place — Permabond adhesives typically between +5 and +25 °C, see TDS for exact values. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. Observe the expiry date on the packaging. Store cyanoacrylates in a cool place (ideally refrigerated) for maximum shelf life.
The comparison table above lists related Permabond products with different properties—viscosity, mixing ratio, special certification.
