Permabond ET538 is a high-strength 2K epoxy with an exceptionally long pot life — designed for large-area structural bonding and complex component assemblies where standard epoxies cure too quickly.
With a pot life of 120–150 minutes, ET538 is the longest-lasting 2K epoxy in the ET series — ideal for plant engineering, shipbuilding, wind turbine rotor blades and other large-area structural bonding applications that need to be processed over long distances.

High-strength 2-component epoxy with a very long pot life — 120–150 minutes for large-area structural bonding. The 2-component epoxy is mixed in a 1:1 volume ratio and offers a pot life of 120–150 minutes @ 23 °C.
Mix both components in a 1:1 ratio by volume — using a mixing nozzle for dual cartridges, weigh precisely for larger containers. Apply within the pot life (120–150 minutes @ 23 °C) and join components. Full curing typically occurs after — at room temperature.
The pot life of Permabond ET538 is typically 120–150 minutes at 23 °C. Higher temperatures shorten, lower temperatures lengthen the pot life. Mixing quantities above approximately 100 g may gel more quickly due to an exothermic reaction.
Permabond ET538 bonds reliably to: steel: 25–30 N/mm²; carbon fiber: 20–24 N/mm². For thermoplastic substrates, test compatibility before series production.
Permabond ET538 does not have specific industry-specific approvals such as EU 10/2011 (food), UL94 (fire protection), or Boeing/Airbus (aerospace). For general industrial applications, the product is approved according to Permabond standards.
